variabel intervening. Melalui Instagram, komunitas Lyfe With Less mengedukasi
Instagram @lyfewithless.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine how the influence of motives and planned behavior
consisting of attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on
behaviour of adopting a minimalist lifestyle on Instagram followers @lyfewithless
with behavioral intention as an intervening variable. Through Instagram, the Lyfe
With Less community educates about the minimalist lifestyle needed by its followers
according to the followers' motives in accessing the media. The minimalist lifestyle
is defined as an an attempt at self-control to focus to the essential things only.
Meanwhile, behavioral intentions can be a direct determinant of behaviour when
individuals have the intention to act, individuals will behave the same way. The
research method used is descriptive quantitative, path analysis, and sobel test on
100 Instagram followers @lyfewithless. This study used the theory of uses and
gratification and the theory of planned behaviour. The results show that the
variables that have a direct effect on behaviour are attitudes, subjective norms, and
behavioral intentions, while those that have no effect on behaviour are the variables
of motive and perceived behavioral control. Then the behavioral intention variable
mediates the effect of motive and perceived behavioral control on behavior, but
behavioral intention does not mediate the effect of attitude and subjective norms on
behavior.
