Abstract
ABSTRAK
PT Presisi Mandiri Industri merupakan salah satu perusahaan industri
manufaktur yang bergerak dalam penyediaan alat kesehatan di Indonesia. Seiring
dengan meningkatnya permintaan pada bulan Juli hingga Desember 2024, PT
Presisi Mandiri Industri telah menghadapi masalah yang disebabkan adanya
pemborosan (waste) pada proses produksi. Salah satu waste yang ditemukan yaitu
produk defect sebesar 1618 produk dengan persentase 6,5%. Produk defect tersebut
menyebakan terjadinya over processing dan kemungkinan waste lainnya yang
menyebabkan waktu proses produksi menjadi lebih lama.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Lean Six Sigma dengan penerapan
konsep lean manufacturing dengan membuat Value Stream Mapping (VSM) untuk
mengidentifikasi aliran proses dari awal hingga akhir serta aktivitas value added,
non-value added, dan necessary non-value added. Penerapan metodologi DMAIC
(Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) untuk menganalisis akar penyebab
masalah dan memberikan usulan perbaikan yang dapat diterapkan oleh perusahaan
secara berkelanjutan.
Analisis menunjukkan pada bulan Juli hingga Desember 2024 rata-rata nilai
sigma sebesar 3,85 sehingga masih diperlukan perbaikan pada proses produksi alat
kesehatan. Usulan perbaikan yang dilakukan pada future state value stream
mapping yaitu penambahan SOP tentang pengisian check sheet seperti
penggabungan aktivitas pemeriksaan produk dengan aktivitas pengisian check
sheet, penambahan mesin cuci untuk mencukupi 5 proses pencucian, dan
penambahan mesin pengering yang otomatis. Usulan perbaikan tersebut
meningkatkan nilai Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) dari 62% menjadi 70%.

Improvement Proposal of Medical Device Production Process
to Minimize Waste Using Lean Six Sigma Method
ABSTRACT
PT Presisi Mandiri Industri is a manufacturing company specializing in the
production and distribution of medical devices in Indonesia. During the period from
July to December 2024, the company experienced a significant increase in demand,
which exposed inefficiencies within its production system—primarily caused by
waste. One critical issue identified was a high defect rate, with 1,618 defective units
accounting for 6.5% of total production. This defect rate led to overprocessing and
contributed to additional forms of waste, ultimately extending production cycle
times.
This study applies the Lean Six Sigma methodology, integrating lean
manufacturing tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to map end-to-end
processes and classify activities into value-added (VA), non-value-added (NVA),
and necessary non-value-added (NNVA). The DMAIC framework (Define,
Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) is employed to systematically identify root
causes and develop sustainable improvement proposals.
The analysis reveals that the average sigma level from July to December
2024 was 3.85, indicating the need for further process optimization. Based on the
future state VSM, key improvement initiatives include the development of a
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for integrated product inspection and check
sheet documentation, the addition of washing machines to support five cleaning
stages, and the installation of automated drying machines. These interventions are
projected to increase Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) from 62% to 70%, thereby
enhancing overall operational performance.
