ABSTRAK
Penyakit gangguan jiwa merupakan salah satu kasus yang cukup serius dan
menempati urutan paling banyak ketiga di dunia. Di Indonesia, angka orang yang
mempunyai gangguan jiwa meningkat setiap tahunnya. Film pendek Tak Ada
yang Gila di Kota Ini karya Wregas Bhanuteja hadir mengangkat kisah mengenai
orang-orang dengan gangguan jiwa. Film ini menceritakan tentang orang
gangguan jiwa yang dibersihkan dari jalanan oleh suatu hotel dan ditelantarkan ke
hutan. Hal ini dilakukan pihak hotel untuk menjaga kenyamanan dan citra mereka
di mata turis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerimaan penonton
mengenai orang gangguan jiwa yang diperlihatkan dalam film. Penelitian ini
menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis resepsi. Teori
yang digunakan adalah teori penerimaan dengan encoding-decoding dari Stuart
Hall. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, pengamatan, dan studi
kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga posisi sudut pandang
narasumber yaitu dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Dua narasumber dalam posisi
dominan menerima orang gangguan jiwa sebagai kaum terpinggirkan dan
tertindas. Pada posisi negosiasi, dua narasumber menerima orang gangguan jiwa
sebagai bentuk adanya kekurangan faktor ekonomi dan pengetahuan kesehatan
mental. Satu narasumber dalam posisi oposisi menerima orang gangguan jiwa
bukan sebagai proyeksi realita sosial. Latar belakang, pendidikan, domisili, dan
pengalaman hidup yang berbeda menjadi pengaruh narasumber dalam melakukan
penerimaan objek penelitian ini.

ABSTRACT
Mental illness is one of the most serious cases and ranks third in the world. In
Indonesia, the number of people with mental disorders is increasing every year.
The short film No One is Crazy in This Town (Tak Ada yang Gila di Kota Ini) by
Wregas Bhanuteja presents the story of people with mental disorders. This film
tells the story of a mentally ill person who is cleared from the streets by a hotel
and abandoned into the forest. This is done by the hotel to maintain their comfort
and image in the eyes of tourists. This study aims to determine the audience's
acceptance of people with mental disorders shown in the film. This research uses
qualitative research with reception analysis approach. The theory used is the
reception theory with encoding-decoding from Stuart Hall. Data collection
techniques through interviews, observations, and literature study. The results of
the study indicate that there are three positions of the informant's point of view,
namely dominant, negotiation, and opposition. Two sources in a dominant
position accept people with mental disorders as marginalized and oppressed. In
the negotiating position, two interviewees accepted people with mental disorders
as a form of lack of economic factors and knowledge of mental health. One source
in the opposition position accepts people with mental disorders not as projections
of social reality. Different backgrounds, education, domicile, and life experiences
influence the sources in accepting the object of this research.
