Abstract

ABSTRAK
TikTok merupakan aplikasi media sosial berbagi video yang khusus
membagikan video pendek kepada penggunanya. Sebagai media sosial, TikTok
memiliki ragam konten yang dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penggunanya
sehingga penggunaan TikTok pada setiap pengguna berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemaknaan dan motif penggunaan TikTok dalam
mengakses konten ulasan produk pada generasi Z di Yogyakarta, serta mengetahui
informasi for you page (FYP) yang juga merupakan beranda TikTok. Teori dan
pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan ialah fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian ini
dibagi menjadi tiga bagian. Pertama, pemaknaan penggunaan TikTok dalam
mengakses konten ulasan produk diantaranya; konten ulasan produk menjadi
konten yang menghibur namun tetap informatif, membantu pengguna menemukan
hal baru, mempersuasi pengguna tertarik kepada produk, memberikan kenyamanan
pengalaman penggunaan/user experience (UX), memberi interaksi antar penonton
dan kreator konten, serta menjadikan TikTok sebagai media yang solutif dalam
menjawab permasalahan kebutuhan. Kedua, dengan menggunakan analisis Schutz
yakni because of motive (motif sebab), didapat motif bahwa pengguna mengakses
konten ulasan produk karena suatu kebutuhan informasi, pengalaman UX yang
nyaman digunakan, konten yang disajikan menarik, serta informasi TikTok
langsung pada inti. Selain itu melalui analisis in order to motive didapat motif
tujuan dalam mengakses konten ulasan produk untuk menyimpan dan membagikan
konten untuk dilihat dikemudian hari, serta mendapatkan informasi baru. Pada hasil
penelitian terakhir, didapat informasi bahwa FYP TikTok disusun berdasarkan
video yang disukai pengguna serta video yang sedang tren.

ABSTRACT
TikTok is a video-sharing social media application that specifically shares
short videos with its users. As a social media, TikTok has a variety of content that
can be tailored to the needs of its users so that the use of TikTok in each user is
different. This study aims to find out the meaning and motives for using TikTok in
accessing product review content in generation Z in Yogyakarta, as well as find out
information for you page (FYP) which is also the homepage of TikTok. The theory
and research approach used is phenomenology. The results of this study are divided
into three parts. First, the meaning of using TikTok in accessing product review
content including; Product review content become entertaining content but still
informative, help users discover new things, persuade users to be interested in
products, provide convenience of user experience (UX), provide interaction
between viewers and content creators, and make TikTok a solutive medium in
answering needs. Second, by using Schutz analysis, namely because of motive, it is
found that users access product review content because of an information need, a
UX experience that is comfortable to use, content that is presented attractive, and
TikTok information is directly at the core. In addition, through in-order to motive
analysis, the purpose of accessing product review content is obtained to store and
share content for future viewing, as well as obtaining new information. In the
results of the last study, information was obtained that TikTok's FYP was arranged
based on videos that users liked as well as videos that were trending
