Abstract

ABSTRAK Homoseksual merupakan salah satu fenomena sosial yang masih menjadi isu kontradiktif di dalam masyarakat. Salah satu identitas seksual yakni lesbian. Sebagian besar masyarakat masih menolak keberadaan komunitas lesbian karena seringkali berbenturan dengan standar agama, nilai dan norma sosial. Dalam menyikapi keadaan itu, para lesbian pun menggunakan media online Sepocikopi.com untuk berinteraksi dengan sesama lesbian lantaran belum mendapatkan tempat di tengah kehidupan bermasyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi identitas lesbian serta menjelaskan interaksi antar sesama lesbian melalui media online Sepocikopi.com. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka. Subjek yang menjadi sumber data yakni lesbian pengguna Sepocikopi.com. Untuk memastikan keabsahan data, peneliti melakukan triangulasi data. Kegiatan analisis data dimulai dari pengumpulan data, tahap reduksi data, dan kategorisasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh temuan bahwa pada saat lesbian melakukan representasi diri dan interaksi di media online, komunitas ini terbagi dalam dua golongan yaitu golongan terbuka dan golongan tertutup. Jika dikehidupan sosial seorang lesbian sudah dapat terbuka akan orientasi seksualnya, maka di ruang virtual pun ia akan terang-terangan menunjukkan identitas yang sebenarnya. Berbeda dengan lesbian tertutup, mereka justru sengaja membuat identitas palsu untuk menyembunyikan identitas aslinya. Penelitian ini masih membatasi interaksi di ruang virtual, diharapkan pada penelitian selanjutnya untuk melihat interaksi lanjutan seperti tatap muka, sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran interaksi lesbian secara lebih kompleks. Kata Kunci: Representasi, Lesbian, Interaksi Virtual, Sepocikopi.com ABSTRACT Homosexuality is a social phenomenon that still controversial in our society. One of those sexual identity is lesbian. Most of society still rejecting them in a daily life due to the fact that homosexuality is backlashing social and religious norms. To respond that circumtances, lesbians utilizing online media like Sepocikopi.com as a space to interact with fellow lesbians. The main goals of this research are to find out the representation of lesbians identity and to explain the interaction among lesbians through Sepocikopi.com. This research use qualitative descriptive method with interview, observation and literature study as the data collections technique. Subjects in this research are fours lesbians who actively join sepocikopi.com. to ensure the validity, researchers also do triangulation of data. The data analysis start from data collecting, data reduction, and categorization. Based on the analysis, researcher found that lesbians community split into two group when represent themselves in social media. The group divided into the open lesbians and the closed lesbians. Lesbians who already open in real life have tendency to be open too in social media. The condition is contrast with the closed lesbians. They tend to create an alter ego in social media to hide their real identity. Researcher limits this research only about the data that related to interaction in social media. In the next research, it will be better to extend this topic to analysis the interaction in real life so it can give wider picture about lesbians interaction.
