Abstract

ABSTRAK
Asama Putra Bali Saraswati Yogyakata, merupakan sebuah fasilitas tempat tingggal
yang dibangun oleh pemerintah provinsi Bali dan sekaligus menjadi Organisasi untuk
menaungi mahasiswa yang berasal dari provinsi Bali. Asrama Bali setiap tahunnya
menerima mahasiswa baru yang berasal dari provinsi Bali. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah
untuk mengetahui bagaimana adaptasi mahasiswa Asrama Putra Bali Saraswati melalui
proses komunikasi antar budaya di lingkungan Masyarakat Baciro. Metode penelitian
yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian Asrama Putra Bali
Saraswati dan menggunakan Teori Komunikasi Integratif. Hasil penelitian lapangan
menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Asrama Bali mampu menyikapi perbedaan budaya
dengan pikiran yang positif. Dukungan lingkungan internal asrama juga membantu
mahasiswa mempertahankan identitas budaya mereka sambil beradaptasi dengan
lingkungan baru. Mahasiswa Asrama Bali juga menunjukkan kemampuan dan
kemamuan untuk berinteraksi dengan masyarakat Baciro melalui berbagai kegiatan
sosial dan budaya. Melalui penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa proses adaptasi mahasiswa
Asrama Bali Saraswati dengan masyarakat Baciro sudah terjadi secara turun temurun
melalui proses adaptasi komunikasi antar budaya, dukungan lingkungan, dan
penerapan etika bermasyarakat, yang semuanya berkontribusi pada hubungan yang
harmonis dan inklusif antara kedua komunitas.

ABSTRACT
Asama Putra Bali Saraswati Yogyakata, is a residential facility built by the Bali
provincial government and at the same time an organization to accommodate students
who come from Bali Province. Asrama Bali annually accepts new students who come
from the province of Bali. The purpose of this research is to find out how the adaptation
of Bali Saraswati Dormitory students through the intercultural communication process
in the Baciro community. The research method used is qualitative, with the object of
research of Bali Saraswati Dormitory and using Integrative Communication Theory.
The results of field research show that Balinese dormitory students are able to respond
to cultural differences with positive thoughts. The support of the dormitory's internal
environment also helps students maintain their cultural identity while adapting to the
new environment. Balinese dormitory students also demonstrate the ability and
capability to interact with the Baciro community through various social and cultural
activities. Through this research, it was found that the adaptation process of Balinese
Saraswati Dormitory students with the Baciro community has occurred for generations
through the adaptation process of intercultural communication, environmental
support, and the application of social ethics, all of which contribute to a harmonious
and inclusive relationship between the two communities.
