Abstract
ABSTRAK
Rasisme adalah masalah sosial yang masih sering terjadi dalam kehidupan
bermasyarakat selama ratusan tahun. Perbedaan ras warna kulit, agama, suku, bangsa
dan golongan menjadi sebab munculnya prasangka dan sikap membenci serta
tindakan menindas kelompok lain yang dianggap minoritas. proses penindasan
terhadap masyarakat yang berbeda strata sosialnya, diilustrasikan dari setiap adegan
dalam film Green Book. Bergenre biografi dan drama-komedi film ini mengangkat
realitas kelompok kulit hitam tahun 1960an. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengetahui bagaimana representasi wacana rasisme dalam film Green Book karya
Petter Farrlley. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori penelitian kualitatif dengan
menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. Van Dijk yaitu
analisis wacana dimensi teks, kognisi sosial dan juga konteks sosial. Dimensi teks
merupakan susunan struktur teks yang terdapat dalam teks. Kognisi soial merupakan
pandangan, pemahaman serta kesadaran mental pembuat teks yang membentuk teks,
sedangkan konteks sosial merupakan pengetahuan mengenai situasi yang berkembang
di masyarakat yang berkenaan atas suatu wacana. Melalui model tersebut peneliti
menemukan bahwa pada level teks (struktur makro, superstruktur, dan struktur
mikro), tema besar yang diambil dalam film adalah rasisme yang ditunjukan dalam
sikap prasangka, stereotype dan diskriminasi terhadap kulit hitam. Kalimat yang
digunakan memilikikoherensi didalamnya sehingga terbentuklah wacana yang ingin
dibangun. Level kognisi sosial, Farrelly berpandangan rasisme dapat dikurangi
dengan memahami kelompok lain melalui komunikasi. Dari segi konteks sosial
rasisme masih terus terjadi meski sudah terdapat undang-undang yang menjamin hak
kelompok kulit hitam

Racism is a social problem that is still common in social life for hundreds of
years. Differences in race, color, religion, ethnicity, nation and class are the cause of
the emergence of prejudice and hatred and acts of oppressing other groups that are
considered minorities. the process of oppression of people with different social strata,
is illustrated from each scene in the green book film. The biographical and comedydrama genres of this film highlight the reality of black groups in the 1960s. The
purpose of this study is to find out how the discourse of racism is represented in the
Green Book film by Petter Farrlley. This research is included in the category of
qualitative research using the critical discourse analysis approach of Teun A. Van
Dijk's model, namely discourse analysis of text dimensions, social cognition and also
social context. The text dimension is the arrangement of the text structure contained
in the text. Social cognition is the view, understanding and mental awareness of the
text maker that forms the text, while the social context is knowledge about the
situation that develops in society regarding a discourse. Through this model, the
researcher found that at the text level (macro structure, superstructure, and micro
structure), the big theme taken in the film is racism which is shown in attitudes of
prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination against black people. The sentences used
have coherence in it so that the discourse that you want to build is formed. The level
of social cognition, Farrelly believes that racism can be reduced by understanding
other groups through communication. In terms of the social context, racism continues
to occur even though there are laws that guarantee the rights of black groups.
