Abstract

Demonstrasi merupakan salah satu kegiatan mengemukakan pendapat yang menjadi hak setiap manusia. Aksi demo yang menjadi perdebatan dilakukan oleh Ketua BEM UI Zaadit Taqwa pada Februari 2018. Aksi ini lebih bersifat simbolis dengan menggunakan kartu kuning sebagai media dalam mengkritisi Pemerintah, namun aksi ini justru menimbulkan pro kontra di dalam masyarakat. Hal ini akan mempengaruhi citra Zaadit Taqwa sebagai mahasiswa sekaligus Ketua BEM UI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kecenderungan pemberitaan Zaadit Taqwa pada aksi kartu kuning Jokowi di Detik.com dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konstruksi citra yang disajikan Detik.com terkait aksi kartu kuning Jokowi yang dilakukan oleh Zaadit Taqwa periode 2 Februari-7 Maret 2018. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode framing Entman. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling bertujuan, dengan menetapkan kategori tokoh, argumen, dan respon. Konstruksi realitas yang ditampilkan pada lima berita yang dianalisis yaitu: Pertama, detik.com memiliki kecenderungan untuk berpihak kepada Zaadit Taqwa. Kecenderungan ini terlihat melalui fokus pemberitaan, narasumber, seleksi isu dan penekanan realitas dan arah kecenderungan ini dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan eksternal pemilik media yang menentukan kebijakan redaksional yang digunakan oleh media detik.com. Kedua, melalui kecenderungan yang dilakukan, terlihat usaha detik.com untuk menggiring opini publik mengenai Zaadit sehingga memberikan citra positif pada Zaadit. Sehingga konstruksi citra yang disajikan detik.com terhadap Zaadit yaitu sebagai seorang mahasiswa yang bertindak mengkritisi dan mengawasi pencapaian kinerja dan kebijakan yang diambil pemerintah. Namun, pembentukan citra tersebut dapat dikatakan tidak berhasil, hal ini dilihat dari hasil analisis respon yang diberikan publik pada pemberitaan, survei kepuasan kinerja Jokowi, dan kedekatan antara Zaadit dengan salah satu partai politik.

ABSTRACT
Demonstration is an activity to voice an opinion. The ability to do demonstration is one of human rights. Demonstration action that sparks debate was done by UI’s Student Union President Zaadit Taqwa on February 2018. This action was done symbolically by using yellow card to criticize the government, but this action sparks debate between the public. This action affects Zaadit Taqwa’s image as a college student and as President of UI’s Student Union. Purpose of this research is to know media tendency toward coverage on Zaadit Taqwa’s yellow card for Jokowi on Detik.com to know how is the image construction done by Detik.com on Zaadit Taqwa’s yellow card for Jokowi within 2 February until 3 March 2018 period. This research is qualitative research using framing method by Entman. This research uses purposive sampling and determines character, argument, and response arguments. Reality construction that was shown in five analyzed news are: First, Detik.com has tendency to side with Zaadit Taqwa. This tendency could be seen in the focus of the news, informant choosing, issue selection, and reality emphasis. This tendency was affected by internal and external factor by editorial policy by Detik.com’s owner. Second, using the created tendency, Detik.com tries to lead public opinion toward Zaadit’s image to give him positive image. Image construction by Detik.com of Zaadit is college student brave enough to take action to criticize the government and supervising government’s performance and policy. Image construction by Detik.com could be considered as a failure because the public’s reaction says otherwise. This could be seen from the public’s response toward the news, survey on public’s satisfaction in Jokowi’s presidential period, and Zaadit’s closeness toward a political party.
