ABSTRAK
K-drama telah menjadi bagian dari media hiburan yang mampu memikat
penonton dengan alur ceritanya yang beragam, sinematografinya yang indah, serta
karakter pemeran yang relatable dengan kehidupan nyata. Kunci keberhasilan dari
terciptanya karya film tidak lain karena adanya kreativitas dari tim produksi untuk
menghasilkan visualisasi yang baik berlandaskan dengan ide gagasan yang kuat.
Maka dari itu, proses penggarapan sebuah drama tidaklah sesingkat ketika kita
menonton hasilnya. Visualisasi dramatik dalam film merujuk pada elemen visual
yang berkontribusi dalam mengkomunikasikan cerita, menciptakan suasana, serta
menyampaikan pesan melalui sebuah gambar. Visualisasi dramatik dapat
mencakup unsur naratif serta sinematik. Mise en scene merupakan salah satu
unsur sinematik yang didalamnya terdapat kolaborasi dari aspek kostum, lighting,
dan akting pemeran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerimaan makna
penonton mengenai visualisasi dramatik yang terdapat dalam drama Alchemy of
Souls Season 2 dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan
mengimplementasikan model resepsi Stuart Hall. Teknik pengumpulan data
melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya dua
posisi pemaknaan yaitu posisi dominan dan negosiasi. Tiga informan berada
dalam posisi dominan menerima bahwa visualisasi dramatik dapat menciptakan
adegan yang berkesan dramatis. Sedangkan empat informan lainnya berada dalam
posisi negosiasi dengan perbedaan pandangan dalam memaknai visualisasi
dramatik yang dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor yaitu faktor lingkungan dan
pengalaman menonton yang dimiliki oleh informan. Berdasarkan hasil kajian
dapat disimpulkan bahwa visualisasi dramatik dalam drama ini mampu
meningkatkan pengalaman serta kepuasan penonton dalam memahami alur cerita
serta memperdalam keterlibatan respon emosional penonton.

ABSTRACT
K-dramas have become part of the entertainment medium that is able to captivate
audiences with its diverse storylines, beautiful cinematography, and cast
characters that are relatable to real life. The key to the success of creating film
works is none other than the creativity of the production team to produce good
visualizations based on strong ideas. Therefore, the process of working on a
drama is not as short as when we watch the results. Dramatic visualization in film
refers to visual elements that contribute to communicating the story, creating
atmosphere, and conveying messages through an image. Dramatic visualizations
can include narrative as well as cinematic elements. Mise en scene is one of the
cinematic elements in which there is a collaboration from aspects of costumes,
lighting, and acting of the cast. This study aims to determine the audience's
acceptance of the meaning of dramatic visualization contained in the drama
Alchemy of Souls Season 2 by using qualitative research methods and
implementing the Stuart Hall reception model. Data collection techniques through
observation and interviews. The results showed that there are two positions of
meaning, namely the dominant position and negotiation. Three informants were in
the dominant position of accepting that dramatic visualization could create a
scene that was memorable dramatic. While the other four informants were in a
negotiating position with different views in interpreting dramatic visualizations
influenced by two factors, namely environmental factors and the viewing
experience possessed by informants. Based on the results of the study, it can be
concluded that the dramatic visualization in this drama is able to increase the
audience's experience and satisfaction in understanding the storyline and deepen
the involvement of the audience's emotional response.
