ABSTRAK
Bullying merupakan tindakan intimidasi yang dilakukan terus menerus baik secara
fisik maupun non-fisik. Bullying secara non-fisik lebih menyerang mental dan
psikologis korban. Bullying jenis ini lebih berbahaya dibandingkan bullying fisik
karena jarang disadari oleh orang sekitar. Fenomena bullying ini kemudian tidak
jarang membuat korbannya mengambil jalan pintas dengan mengakhiri hidupnya
sendiri. Film Thread of Lies menjadi salah satu media hiburan yang mengangkat
fenomena bullying. Berbeda dengan banyak film bertema bullying lainnya, film
Thread of Lies lebih menampilkan bullying secara non-fisik yang mengakibatkan
korban melakukan tindak bunuh diri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengetahui representasi bullying dalam film Thread of Lies dengan menggunakan
analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce. Analisis dilakukan pada scene-scene
dalam film Thread of Lies dengan menggunakan model segitiga makna Pierce
yang terdiri dari tanda, objek, dan interpretant. Penelitian ini menggunakan
metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan paradigma kritis. Peneliti
melakukan pengamatan secara menyeluruh dengan menelaah tanda-tanda berupa
gambar, teks, dialog, suara, dan unsur audiovisual lainnya. Teknik pengumpulan
data menggunakan teknik analisis teks dan gambar dengan menonton dan
mengamati adegan pada film Thread of Lies serta studi pustaka dari berbagai
sumber literatur yang relevan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif
Miles & Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan
kesimpulan. Peneliti menemukan enam scene dalam film Thread of Lies yang
menunjukan adanya tindakan bullying. Hasil dari penelitian ini, menunjukan
bahwa representasi bullying pada film Thread of Lies berupa bullying non-fisik
yang terdiri dari aspek verbal dan aspek indirect. Bullying non-fisik jarang
disadari oleh orang-orang terdekat korban bila tidak ada komunikasi dan
kepekaan. Bullying terjadi karenanya adanya ketimpangan relasi kuasa antara
korban dan pelaku.

ABSTRACT
Bullying is an act of intimidation that is carried out continuously both physically
and non-physically. Non-physical bullying attacks the victim mentally and
psychologically. This type of bullying is more dangerous than physical bullying
because it is rarely noticed by the people around it.The phenomenon of bullying is
rife throughout the world, and it's not uncommon for victims to take their own
lives. The film Thread of Lies is one of the entertainment media that raises the
phenomenon of bullying. Unlike many other bullying-themed films, Thread of Lies
presents more non-physical bullying which causes victim to commit suicide. This
research aims to determine the representation of bullying in the film Thread of
Lies using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis. The analysis was carried
out on the scenes in the film Thread of Lies using the Pierce triangle model of
meaning that consists of signs, objects, and interpretants. This study uses a
qualitative research method with critical paradigm approach. The researcher
made a thorough observation by examining signs in the form of images, text,
dialogue, sound, and other audiovisual elements. The data collection techniques
used text and image analysis techniques by watching and observing scenes in the
film Thread of Lies and literature studies from various relevant literary sources.
The data analysis technique uses the Miles & Huberman interactive model
consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Researchers found
six scenes in the film Thread of Lies which indicate bullying.The results of this
study show that the representation of bullying in the Thread of Lies film is in the
form of non-physical bullying consisting of verbal and indirect aspects. Non-
physical bullying is rarely realized by the people closest to the victim if there is no
communication and sensitivity. Bullying occurs because there is an imbalance of
power relations between victims and perpetrators.
