Abstract

ABSTRAK
Foto surealisme merupakan salah satu jenis fotografi seni. Foto surealisme
adalah foto yang menampilkan objek visual yang melebihi realitas atau lebih dari
sekedar realis. Salah satu fotografer surealisme adalah Erik Johannson, fotografer
dan seniman kelahiran 1985 di Swedia. Fokusnya pada cerita dan tujuannya adalah
untuk membuatnya secara realis, meskipun adegan itu sendiri mengandung elemen
yang tidak mungkin nyata. Tema yang dipilih dalam objek penelitian ini adalah
foto-foto yang memuat unsur lingkungan, yang mengandung unsur kesatuan ruang
dengan semua benda, daya, keadaan, dan makhluk hidup, termasuk di dalamnya
manusia dan perilakunya, yang mempengaruhi kelangsungan peri kehidupan dan
kesejahteraan manusia serta makhluk hidup lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah
untuk mengetahui makna tanda-tanda dalam foto surealisme tentang lingkungan
karya Erik Johansson. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian
kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis memilih
analisis semiotika, mencari makna denotasai, konotasi dan mitos pada tiga foto
yang bertemakan lingkungan karya Erik Johansson sebagai objek penelitian. Pada
foto pertama yang berjudul Demand and Supply bermakna banyak tempat yang
dieksploitasi yang sejalan dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Foto kedua berjudul
Expecting Winter, bermakna bumi sedang mengalami pemanasan global yang
berdampak pada perubahan iklim. Foto terakhir berjudul Impact bermakna lapisan
ozon bumi sudah menipis dan berdampak pada lingkungan hidup di bumi.
Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah foto surealis Erik Johansson menggambarkan
kondisi lingkungan yang dieksploitasi oleh manusia yang berdampak pada rusaknya
lapisan ozon hingga menyebabkan pemanasan global.

Photo surrealism is a type of art’s photography. Surrealism photos are
photos that show visual objects that beyond reality or more than realistic. One of
the surrealism photographer is Erik Johannson, a photographer and artist born in
1985 in Sweden. The focus is on the story and the goal is to make it realistic, even
though the scene itself contains elements that cannot be real. The theme chosen in
this object research are photographs that contain elements of the environment,
which contain elements of the space unity with all objects, power, condition, and
living things, including humans and their behavior, which affect the continuity of
life and the humans welfare and other creatures. The purpose of this research was
to found the signs of meaning from Erik Johansson's surrealism photo about the
environment. The research method used was a qualitative research method with a
descriptive approach. In this research, the authors chose semiotic analysis, looking
for the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in three photos with
environmental themes by Erik Johansson as the object of this research. The first
photo, titled Demand and Supply, means that many places are being exploited in
line with economic growth. The second photo titled Expecting Winter, which means
that the earth is experiencing global warming which has an impact on climate
change. The last photo titled Impact means that the earth's ozone layer has been
depleted and has an impact on the environment on earth. The conclusion of this
research is that Erik Johansson's surreal photo depicts environmental conditions
exploited by humans which have an impact on the destruction of the ozone layer to
cause global warming.
