Abstract
Activity and the quality of Indonesia's economy has a very close relationship with labor
conditions, particularly to creat productive employment opportunities. Although we have entered
the recovery phase of the economic crisis / monetary longlife crisis but the results are not quite
optimal a positive impact on solving the problem of employment. In the process of economic
development includes economic activities that seek optimizing the use of economic factors
provided thereby creating economic added value. The Policy to expansion of employment
opportunities is an important policy in the economic development, because one measure
assessing a country's economic success is demand of the employment created by economic
development.
Employment opportunities it is the most basic socio-economic aspects. Based on the
survey results revealed Wages and GDP variable is not significant and statistically significant
effects on employment in the province of Yogyakarta Special Region. While the variables of
population and level of education is statistically real and significant effect on employment in the
province of Yogyakarta Special Region.
