Abstract

The research on revegetation is important, because it can contribute about for decreasing of degradation forest in Indonesia. The objective of this research was to find out determine the land suitability for Tectona sp and Acasia sp on calcite mining. This research was conducted in Sawah, Girisekar Village, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Province. Survey method was used in this research was to collect primary data by observing the location. Purposive method was used to select the sampling location. Soil depth for sampling was taken to 30 cm on the land after mining. The land suitability system was using Puslittanak (1993) requirement. The parameters for describing land suitability were annual temperature, available water (dry month < 75 mm), annual rain fall, root zone (drainage, texture, effective soil depth until 100 cm) and retention of nutrition (cation exchange capacity and pH). The result showed that the land suitability for Tectona sp was marginally suitable (S3) white limited factor was effective soil depth (75-90 cm), and for Acacia sp was much suitable (S2). Finally it two crops were can as revegetation crop in land after mining of calcite, it can decreasing of degradation forest. Keywords: revegetation, land suitability, Tectona sp, Acasia sp
