Abstract
ABSTRAK
Krisis kepemimpinan mulai terjadi di Indonesia. Indikator untuk mengetahui munculnya krisis
kepemimpinan antara lain demonstrasi, kasus korupsi yang dilakukan pejabat, dan sikap main hakim
sendiri. Wayang menjadi salah satu sumber aspirasi kepemimpinan. Pemerintah dapat belajar dari
sosok Semar yang penuh keteladanan. Permasalahan tersebut menarik untuk diteliti. Tujuan
penelitian untuk mengetahui pemahaman keteladanan Semar dalam cerita wayang Semar Mbangun
Khayangan. Teori yang dipakai adalah teori interaksi simbolik dan semiotika, lebih khususnya
semiotika milik Roland Barthes. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif dengan jenis semiotika.
Hasil penelitian yaitu Semar memiliki empat konsep keteladanan yang dapat dicontoh. Pertama
konsep pemomong, Semar bertugas menjadi pemomong bagi Pandawa. Semar adalah seorang dewa
yang ditugaskan ke bumi untuk menjadi seorang pelayan. Tugas Semar adalah menuntun jalan
Pandawa menuju kebenaran. Perkataan yang keluar dari Semar adalah kata-kata yang penuh
kebijakan. Kedua Ketuhanan, Semar mengajarkan untuk selalu mendekatkan diri kepada Tuhan. Cara
untuk beribadah tidak hanya dilakukan dengan mendatangi tempat ibadah saja, misalnya dengan
berbuat kebaikan, berpuasa, membaca kitab suci, dan berderma. Ketiga konsep kemanusiaan,
artinya manusia hidup saling membutuhkan. Manusia juga hendaknya berbuat kebaikan. Rasa
persaudaraan yang kuat mampu menjauhkan manusia dari perpecahan. Konsep yang keempat
adalah konsep pemaaf, Semar mengajarkan untuk memberi maaf kepada orang yang telah berbuat
salah. Kesalahan sebesar apapun, sebaiknya dimaafkan.
ABSTRACT
The crisis of leadership started occur in Indonesia. Indicators to find out the emergence of a
leadership crisis include demonstrations, official corruption cases, and the vigilantism. The puppets
master become the one resources of leadership aspirations. Government can learn from the figure
of Semar which is full of ideals. Those issues interesting to be searched. The purpose of the research
to find out the understanding, exemplary wayang Semar Semar Mbangun Khayangan. The theory
used is symbolic interaction theory and semiotics, more particularly Roland Barthes' semiotic. The
method used is qualitative type of semiotics. Semar research results that is have four exemplary
concepts that can be emulated. The first concept is nurturing, Semar served as a nurturing for the
Pandawa. Semar is a god which assigned to the earth to become a servant. Semar has a duty to lead
the Pandawa to the righteousness. The words that came out of Semar is which is full of words of
wisdom. Both the Godhead, Semar always taught to get closer to God. How to worshiping isn’t just
done by visiting religious places only, for example, by doing good, fasting, scripture reading, and
charity. The third concept of humanity, has meaning humans need each other to live. Humans
should also to do good. A powerful sense of brotherhood is able to keep people from splits. The
fourth concept is the concept of forgiving, Semar taught to give forgiveness to those who have
wronged. Of error of anything, should be excused.
