Abstract
Tujuan penulisan skripsi ini adalah untuk mengetahui tujuan dan manfaat yang didapat oleh
Indonesia dari Korea Selatan dalam kerjasama militer terkait dengan Badan Usaha Milik Negara
Industri Strategis Indonesia dengan kurun waktu 2004-2012. Kerjasama militer yang dimaksud
adalah kerjasama dalam industri pertahanan terkait dengan PT PAL, PT PINDAD dan PT
Digantara Indonesia. Kerjasama militer tersebut mencakup kerjasama dalam hal produksi
bersama ALUTSISTA utama yaitu kapal selam, kapal perang, pesawat tempur dan kendaraan
tempur. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah melalui pendekatan diplomasi kapabilitas pertahanan
dan diplomasi industri pertahanan.
Penelitian ini telah membuktikan bahwa kerjasama militer Indonesia dengan Korea Selatan
terkait dengan perkembangan Badan Usaha Milik Negara Industri Strategis Indonesia memiliki
tujuan untuk meningkatkan kapabilitas pertahanan Indonesia dan meningkatkan kemandirian
industri pertahanan nasional. Lalu manfaat utama yang didapatkan oleh Indonesia adalah
bertambahnya kemampuan gelar wilayah pertahanan TNI dan mendapatkan transfer teknologi
ALUTSISTA.

The purpose of this thesis is to find out the purpose and the benefits gained by Indonesia from
South Korea in military cooperation related to State-Owned Strategic Industries in Indonesia at
2004-2012 period. The Military cooperation is cooperation in the defense industry associated
with PT PAL, PT PINDAD and PT Dirgantara Indonesia. The military cooperation covers
cooperation in the joint production of major defense equipment ie submarines, warships, combat
aircraft and combat vehicles. The approach used are defence capability diplomacy and defence
industry diplomacy.
This study has shown that the Indonesian military cooperation with South Korea associated with
the development of State-Owned Strategic Industries Indonesia has a purpose to increase
Indonesia's defense capability and enhance the independence of the national defense industry.
And then the main benefit are obtained by increasing the ability to keep the areas and get a
technological transfer of defense equipment.
