Abstract
Desertification in China affect to economic and social losses. Social issues such as sand storms which affect health, migration, food security, and conflict are currently facing China in its efforts to tackle desertification in the country. The China’s government realizes that in order to develop the country into a developed country, attention to environmental issues and economic development are two things to be the way in synergism. Desertification is a public issue and that problem can be analyzed by using public policy. This thesis itself using domestic policy and foreign policy are part of the public policy to analyze the problems of this desertification. The Chinese government has ratified the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) which is as guidelines for policy making desertification in China.
