Abstract

INTISARI Keberhasilan kegiatan revegetasi dapat terlihat dengan mengurangi atau mencegah dampak buruknya suatu lahan saat dilakukannya kegiatan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan di areal revegetasi, dengan tiga lokasi pengambilan sampel erosi di kerapatan vegetasi yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterkaitan curah hujan dan aliran permukaan dengan laju erosi yang terjadi di areal revegetasi PT Kaltim Prima Coal dan mengetahui laju erosi pada kerapatan berbeda. Survey lapangan dilakukan untuk mengetahui kondisi lahan revegetasi dilapangan dan penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel. Petak kecil berukuran 22m x 2m dibuat pada 3 tempat dengan umur revegetasi berbeda. Mengukur kerapatan pada tiap-tiap lokasi pengambilan sampel dengan metode kuadrat berukuran 2m x 2m. Sampel pada petak kecil didapatkan jumlah aliran permukaan dan tanah tererosi dan selanjutnya dilakukan analisis laboratorium untuk mengetahui berat basah dan berat kering tanah tererosi. Keterkaitan antara curah hujan dan aliran permukaan dengan laju erosi sangat erat. Curah hujan akan menghasilkan aliran permukaan dan dengan adanya aliran permukaan maka erosi akan terjadi. Faktor pengontrol seperti vegetasi, kedalaman tanah sangat berperan sebagai pencegah atau mengurangi aliran permukaan sehingga erosi dapat dihindari atau diminilaisir. Nilai laju erosi pada tiap plot dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kerapatan vegetasi. Semakin rapat kerapatan, maka laju erosi semakin kecil. Plot 1 memiliki kerapatan vegetasi paling kecil dari plot lainnya yaitu sebesar 105/100 m 2 dengan nilai laju erosi sebesar 39,06 kg atau nilai laju erosi terbesar dibandingkan plot 2 atau plot 3. This research was conducted at the revegetation area, within three locations of erosion sampling in different vegetation density. This research aims to find out determine the relationship of precipitation and runoff at the rate of erosion in the area of revegetation PT Kaltim Prima Coal and determine the rate of erosion at different densities. Field surveys conducted to determine the condition of the field revegetation land and determining the location of sampling. Small plots measuring 22m x 2m was made in three different places with age revegetation. A mathematical method calculating the rate of erosion using small plots of 22m x 2m, measuring vegetation density using the method of least squares measuring 2m x 2m for undergrowth and flow measurement surface, while the methods of laboratory analysis determined the wet weight and the weight of dry soil to find out the large rate of erosion happen. The link between rainfall and runoff with the erosion rate very closely. The rainfall will produce runoff and the presence of the surface flow erosion will occur. Factors such as vegetation control, soil depth was instrumental as a deterrent or reduce runoff so that erosion can be avoided or diminilaisir. Value erosion rate on each plot is affected by the density of the vegetation. The closer the density, the smaller the rate of erosion. Plot 1 has the smallest vegetation density of the other plots in the amount of 105/100 m2 with the value of the erosion rate of 39.06 kg or the value of the largest erosion rate compared to plot 2 or 3 plots.
