Abstract

Abstracts Results from this thesis asumes that there are many factors which aspects influenced the emergence and transmission of HIV/AIDS in India such as unsave sex behaviour, blood secretion, dropping virus from mothers to their child. The epidemic of HIV/AIDS in India wasn’t merely about health issue, but it also contain social, politics, economic, ras and religion matter that sooner or later the impact will reach all aspects of social living. These kind of things threatning the national afford of increasing the quality of human resources, and if it’s not be treated immediately then India will not be able to face the global competition because of the HIV/AIDS problem. Effective prevent, survaillence and support to People Living with HIV (PLHIV) is something people could create in the environment where PLHIV can live without discrimination. On their efforts of preventing, NACO iniciates the CSMP (Condom Social Marketing Programme), and the RRE (Red Ribbon Ekspress) programs to reach the high risk community of PLHIV in citizens. Second effort including treatment, support, and essentials services so that PLHIV can get intenssive care and treatments for free. the obstacles of NACO’s effort of affording the success of preventing HIV/AIDS includes stigma and discrimination, society’s purchasing power and gender equality. As long as public shows less awareness and no contribution on helping, then NACO’s ideals of mission on fighting HIV/AIDS would be impossible to achieved. In fostering public awareness needs to be formed a working group led by local people to trim the gap between PLHIVs and the societies around them. NACO’s efforts shows progress by UNAIDS annual reports in 2009 says that the number of PLHIV in India shows decrease from 2,4 million to 2,1 million. By iniciates few programs in order of fighting HIV/AIDS in India, the succeed of NACO’s formed in 6,07% in 1999 decreased to 1,87% in 2007 of the HIV/AIDS transmission number, 57% decrease of infection by every years, 29% decrease of death caused by HIV/AIDS, and the success in providing enough stock of blood in blood bank that medically tested free from viruses.
