Abstract

ABSTRAK This thesis discusses the encourage factors of the armed conflict between Armenian and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh erupted again in 2014. The armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has happened twice, in 1988-1991 and 1992-1994 were then successfully suppressed with a ceasefire agreement in 1994. However in 2014 the armed conflict between of the both erupted again. Seizing the territory became one of the important factors that should be seen in this armed conflict, which irredentism contained therein, the attempt to combine a particular territory to a country and also separate a specific territory of a country, in this case the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Irredentism theory concepts used to explaining the seizure problem in Nagorno-Karabakh region. To solve these problems, researchers uses a descriptive analytical research methods and in data collection, the researchers uses technique literature study (library research) and research online. From the discussion of this paper, it was found that the encourage factors of armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno- Karabakh erupted again in 2014 because of the desire of Armenia for control of Nagorno-Karabakh territory and the desire of Nagorno-Karabakh to join Armenia, where it is so opposed by Azerbaijan as the legitimate owner of the territory of international law and is also encouraged for their violations of the ceasefire agreement by both sides.
