Abstract
Tes Potensi Akademik atau TPA adalah sebuah tes yang bertujuan untuk
mengetahui bakat dan kemampuan seseorang di bidang keilmuan. TPA ini diperlukan
sebab dihubungkan dengan kecerdasan seseorang. Model, materi, dan bidang yang diuji
dalam TPA menjadi syarat untuk penerimaan mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi untuk jenjang
S2 dan S3. Sebelum melakukan tes potensi akademik yang nyata, seseorang yang ingin
mengetahui berapa skor TPA-nya harus menunggu adanya kegiatan simulasi tes potensi
akademik yang belum tentu diadakan dan jika diadakan pun, peserta biasanya dikenakan
biaya. Kemudian, beberapa tahun terakhir ini tengah marak perangkat mobile smartphone
seperti android, dimana setiap orang hampir memilikinya. Oleh karena itu akan dibuat
sebuah aplikasi mobile untuk mengerjakan tes potensi akademik ini yang dapat digunakan
secara mobile berbasis android.
Pada tugas akhir ini telah dibuat aplikasi untuk simulasi tes potensi akademik
berbasis android. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan dan pembuatan aplikasi ini
adalah metode GRAPPLE (Guidelines For Rapid APPlication Engineering). Aplikasi ini
dibuat menggunakan program editor Eclipse Android Developer Tools dengan bahasa
pemrograman java.
Simulasi Tes Potensi Akademik untuk android ini memiliki fitur yang dibutuhkan
untuk Tes Potensi Akademik, seperti tes kemampuan verbal, tes kuantitatif, dan tes
penalaran, dengan hasil skor yang diperoleh setelah menyelesaikan simulasi tes potensi
akademik. Kemudian terdapat fitur tips dan trik dimana user dapat melihat daftar kata yang
sering muncul pada tes sinonim, trik mengerjakan soal analogi, dan tips sebelum mengikuti
tes potensi akademik dilengkapi dengan petunjuk penggunaan aplikasi. Dengan adanya
aplikasi ini memudahkan bagi orang yang ingin mengetahui skor tes potensi akademiknya
dengan menggunakan ponsel androidnya dimana saja dan kapan saja.

Academic Potential Test or TPA is a test that aims to identify talent and ability in
the field of science. This is necessary because the TPA is associated with a person's
intelligence. Models, materials, and field tested in a landfill is a requirement for admission
to college to pursue S2 and S3. Before performing real tests of academic potential,
someone who wants to know how his scores landfill must wait for test simulation activities
that are not necessarily academic potential is held and if held too, participants typically
charge. Then, the last few years this booming mobile devices such as Android
smartphones, which almost everyone has it. Therefore, it will be created a mobile app to
work on the academic potential test that can be used in mobile based Android.
In this thesis has made an application to the simulation test android based
academic potential. The method used in the design and manufacture of this application is
the method GRAPPLE (Guidelines For Rapid Application Engineering). This application
is created using the Eclipse editor Android Developer Tools with Java programming
language.
Simulation Test of Academic Potential for android has the features needed for
Academic Potential Test, such as tests of verbal ability, quantitative tests, and tests of
reasoning, with the score obtained after completing the simulation tests of academic
potential. Then there are features tips and tricks that the user can see a list of words that
frequently appear on the test synonyms, analogies about doing tricks and tips before
attending academic potential test comes with instructions for use of the application. With
this application makes it easy for people who want to know their academic potential test
scores by using Android mobile phone anywhere and anytime.
