Abstract
gangguan mental: episode depresif, distimia, episode manik, agorafobia, gangguan panik,

ABSTRACT
Depression is a common mental health condition that often goes undiagnosed due to
limited access to professional psychological services. This research aims to develop a
web-based expert system to assist in the early detection of depression symptoms in
university students aged 18–24. The system integrates the Forward Chaining method for
rule-based inference with the Certainty Factor (CF) technique to calculate the confidence
level of each diagnosis. The MINI ICD-10 questionnaire serves as the foundation for
diagnostic criteria. By combining these methods, the system can determine the potential
presence of six types of mental disorders: depressive episodes, dysthymia, manic episodes,
agoraphobia, panic disorders, and social phobia. System testing using both white-box and
black-box methods confirms its functional accuracy. Although this tool provides an initial
assessment of mental health conditions, it is not a replacement for professional diagnosis.
Instead, it aims to increase awareness and serve as a preliminary guide toward seeking
appropriate mental health support.
