ABSTRAK
Proses ekstraksi bijih emas PT Meares Soputan Mining dilakukan dengan metode
Carbon in Leach (CIL).
American Research Laboratory (AARL).
loaded carbon, larutan hasil elusi, dan stripping karbon adalah sebesar 98,28%;

ABSTRACT
The gold ore extraction process at PT Meares Soputan Mining involves using the
Carbon in Leach (CIL) method. The loaded carbon obtained from CIL is subjected
to elution using the Anglo-American Research Laboratory (AARL) method. The
AARL method was selected due to its numerous advantages, including a shorter process
time, better recovery of precious metals, and the ability to be carried out in batches, making
it more flexible. The elution process for gold and silver requires significant
operational costs, particularly in terms of reagent usage. This study focuses on
assessing the efficiency of emulsion process parameters in acid wash treatment and
reactant concentration, with a specific emphasis on their impact on the percentage
of precious metal acquisition, process kinetics, and overall process costs.
Additionally, the study explores the effects of varying parameters in the elution
process on percent activity, percent adsorption, and carbon barren adsorption
capacity through the barren activity test. The elution process was conducted using
a 12 m3 capacity column, with variations in cyanide concentration, sodium
hydroxide, and acid wash treatment, employing the 23 factorial design method. The
metal content analysis was performed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer
(AAS), and the data was processed using the ANOVA statistical method. Metal
desorption occurred sequentially, starting with copper, followed by silver, and then
gold. The approach involving the calculation of loaded carbon, elution solution,
and carbon stripping yielded the highest percentages of gold at 98.28%, 98.88%,
and 98.80%, silver at 99.66%, 99.76%, and 99.75%, and copper at 95.86%,
98.43%, and 98.33%. The percentage of activity, percent of adsorption, and highest
adsorption capacity were 90.11%, 47.68%, and 4.83 mg/g, respectively. These
results were obtained under experimental conditions of 2% cyanide concentration,
1% sodium hydroxide, and acid wash treatment. Based on the statistical analysis,
the variation of parameters has an influence but is not significant on the acquisition
of precious metals in the elution and adsorption process from barren carbon.
According to the kinetic analysis, copper has the smallest activation energy value.
The greatest benefit is in the skenario with 2% cyanide concentration, 1.5% sodium
hydroxide, and without acid wash treatment, with a profit of $544,910.54. This is
followed by the skenario with 1% cyanide concentration, 1.5% sodium hydroxide,
and with acid wash treatment, with a profit of $544,734.60. The elution process at
PT Meares Soputan Mining can be efficient in terms of reagent usage. The skenario
to be considered for use in the elution process in terms of percentage of gold and
silver recovery, adsorption from barren carbon, and economic aspects is at a
cyanide concentration of 1%, sodium hydroxide of 1.5%, and with acid wash
treatment.
