SARI
dominasi endapan fase-sag.
Selanjutnya Formasi Gumai berumur Miosen Tengah-Akhir diendapkan
sumberdaya gas serpih dalam formasi Talang Akar adalah porositas (0,04);
saturasi air rata-rata (0,35); bulk volume adalah 6,38 X 10 m2, TOC 1,6%;
gas = 78,625 scf/ton, adsorbed gas = 49 scf/ton.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of shale gas in the
Talang Akar Formation based on surface and subsurface data analysis.
The MB area is located in the Jambi Sub-Basin which is part of the South
Sumatra Basin. The area is approximately 758 km2, administratively located in
Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province.
The Jambi sub-basin is underlain by Pre-Tertiary Basement, tertiary
sedimentation is assessed by syn-rift sediments from the Eocene Lahat Formation,
then the Talang Akar Formation was deposited unconformably above the Lahat
formation. The formation was deposited during the oligo-Miocene dominated by
sag-phase deposits.
Furthermore, the Gumai formation aged mid-late Miocene was deposited
by the Banakat and Muara Enim water formations
The geological structure that developed was a northeast-southwest
downward fault, an upward fault and a northwest-southeast fold.
The results of geochemical analysis show that Talang Akar Shale has the
potential as a source rock that can produce gas when it reaches the Brittleness
Index maturity level obtained from X-ray diffraction analysis shows brittle
properties with a quartz content of 46%.
The physical properties of the reservoir used to estimate shale gas
resources in the Talang Akar formation are porosity (0.04); average water
saturation (0.35); bulk volume is 6.38 X 10 m2, TOC 1.6%; vitrinite Reflectance /
Ro (1.3%) and the physical properties of the gas are; free gas content = 78.625
scf / ton, adsorbed gas = 49 scf / ton.
The estimated free gas calculation is 1.72 TCF and the adsorbed gas
calculation is around 1.07 TCF. Then the total GIP in the MB area is 2.79 TCF.
