INTISARI
PT ANTAM Tbk UBP Nikel Maluku Utara di Pulau Pakal terdapat
permasalahan pada area reklamasi berupa erosi tanah. Erosi dapat menyebabkan
penurunan produktivitas unsur tanah, dan jika tidak ditangani dengan benar, dapat
mengakibatkan menurunnya produktivitas tanah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya
penanganan melalui reklamasi dan revegetasi untuk memperbaiki kualitas
lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui besar laju erosi berdasarkan
kemiringan lereng dan mengetahui keterkaitan antara intensitas hujan terhadap laju
erosi, serta merekomendasikan arahan pengendalian laju erosi.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu survei dan pemetaan. Metode
analisis yaitu laboratorium, matematis, dan logaritmik. Metode pengambilan sampel
yaitu purposive sampling berdasarkan kemiringan lereng dan aliran permukaan.
Tongkat ukur dipasang dengan kedalaman 15 cm sesuai dengan kedalaman top soil
dan jarak antar tongkat 5 x 5 meter. Tongkat dipasang pada beberapa kemiringan
lereng yang berbeda yaitu pada kemiringan lereng landai sebesar 8 0, 6 0, 4 0 dan
kemiringan lereng curam sebesar 330, 280, 310 Sampel tanah diambil pada setiap titik
plot pemantauan erosi sebanyak enam titik untuk diketahui berat volume tanah
tersebut. Pengukuran kejadian hujan oleh plot erosi dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan dan
mendapatkan 16 data pengukuran plot erosi.
Hasil perhitungan nilai laju erosi yang didapatkan pada kemiringan lereng
landai yaitu 305,018 ton/ha dan pada kemiringan curam sebesar 507,394 ton/ha
dengan intensitas hujan tertinggi yaitu 18,1 mm/jam. Berdasarkan hasil analisis
logaritmik untuk mengetahui derajat kejenuhan tanah dapat diketahui pada lereng
landai sebesar 0,918 dan lereng curam sebesar 0,859 tergolong dalam tanah basah.
Arahan pengelolaan yang dilakukan yaitu dengan melakukan penataan desain
geometri lereng regrading, pembuatan saluran pembuangan air (SPA), dan
penanaman vegetasi.

ABSTRACT
PT ANTAM Tbk UBP Nickel North Maluku on Pakal Island is facing issues in
the reclamation area, specifically soil erosion. Erosion can lead to a decrease in soil
element productivity, and if not properly addressed, it can result in reduced soil
productivity. Therefore, efforts are needed to manage this through reclamation and
revegetation to improve environmental quality. The aim of this study is to determine
the rate of erosion based on slope gradient and to understand the relationship
between rainfall intensity and erosion rate, as well as to recommend measures for
controlling the erosion rate.
The research methods used include surveys and mapping. The analysis
methods are laboratory, mathematical, and logarithmic. Sampling is done using
purposive sampling based on slope gradients and surface runoff. Measuring rods are
installed at a depth of 15 cm, matching the topsoil depth, and spaced 5 x 5 meters
apart. The rods are installed on various slope gradients, namely gentle slopes of 80,
6 0, and 4 0 degrees, and steep slopes of 330, 280, and 310 degrees. Soil samples are
taken at six points in each erosion monitoring plot to determine the soil's bulk
density. Rainfall measurements are conducted over one month, yielding 16 sets of
erosion plot data.
The calculated erosion rates for gentle slopes are 305.018 tons/ha and for
steep slopes are 507.394 tons/ha, with the highest rainfall intensity recorded at 18.1
mm/hour. Based on logarithmic analysis, soil saturation levels are 0.918 for gentle
slopes and 0.859 for steep slopes, indicating wet soil conditions. Management
directives include implementing regrading for slope geometry, constructing drainage
channels, and planting vegetation.
