ABSTRAK
Kasus kematian Brigadir J terjadi pada 8 Juli 2022 semula dikontruksikan sebagai
sebuah peristiwa baku tembak antara Brigadir J dan Bharada E. Namun, dalam
perkembangan kasus terdapat beberapa kejanggalan mengenai peristiwa kematian
Brigadir J. Penelitian ini ditujukkan untuk melihat bagaimana portal berita online
Tirto.id membingkai berita mengenai kasus kematian Brigadir J. Metodologi
penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis framing model Zhondang Pan dan M.
Kosicki yang terdiri dari empat struktur analisis yaitu struktur sintaksis, struktur
skrip, struktur tematik, dan struktur retoris. Objek yang diteliti adalah berita-berita
mengenai kasus kematian Brigadir J pada portal Tirto.id sebanyak sepuluh berita
pada periode Juli – Agustus 2022. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan portal media
online Tirto.id menyajikan isi berita kepada masyarakat bahwa telah terjadi
perubahan posisi Brigadir J. Tirto.id berusaha menjadi jembatan penghubung antara
kasus kematian Brigadir J dengan masyarakat dengan usahanya memberikan
perkembangan informasi yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Kelengkapan dalam
penyusunan berita oleh Tirto.id sudah terpenuhi dengan cukup baik. Unsur 5W+1H
yang dicantumkan dengan lengkap menjadikan aspek yang harus selalu
dipertahankan oleh Tirto.id. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk dapat meneliti
mengenai pro dan kontra dari sanksi hukuman yang diberlakukan pada tersangka
Ferdy Sambo atas kasus kematian Brigadir J ini.

ABSTRACT
The case of Brigadier J's death on July 8, 2022 was originally constructed as a
shootout between Brigadier J and Bharada E. However, in the development of the
case there were several irregularities regarding the death of Brigadier J. This
research aims to see how the online news portal Tirto.id framed the news about the
death of Brigadier J. The research methodology used is the framing analysis model
of Zhondang Pan and M. Kosicki which consists of four analysis structures, namely
syntactic structure, script structure, thematic structure, and rhetorical structure.
The object studied was the news about the death of Brigadier J on the Tirto.id portal
as many as ten news in the period July - August 2022. From the results of the study,
it was found that the Tirto.id online media portal presented news content to the
public that there had been a change in the position of Brigadier J. Tirto.id tried to
become a bridge between the Brigadier J death case and the community by trying
to provide accountable information developments. Completeness in the preparation
of news by Tirto.id has been fulfilled quite well. The 5W+1H elements that are
included in full make aspects that must always be maintained by Tirto.id. Future
research is suggested to be able to examine the pros and cons of the punitive
sanctions imposed on the suspect Ferdy Sambo for the death of Brigadier J.
