EVALUASI SUCCESS CRITERIA CHEMICAL ACID
STIMULATION DI “NIMO” HEAVY OIL STEAMFLOOD FIELD
UNTUK PRIORITAS KANDIDAT SUMUR

Sumur-sumur produksi minyak di lapangan NIMO rentan terhadap permasalahan
scale, dikarenakan pengaruh dari temperatur tinggi akibat diterapkannya thermal
EOR steamflood untuk memproduksikan minyak berat dari lapangan ini. Total
2500 chemical acid stimulation (acid job), dengan metode bullhead dan juga
CTU, telah dilaksanakan sejak tahun 2019-2023 untuk mengatasi masalah scale
ini. Dari total acid job, 94% tergolong sukses, sedangkan sisanya 6% gagal,
karena tidak menghasilkan oil gain (0 BOPD). Perlu dilakukan evaluasi lebih
lanjut terhadap success criteria dari acid job, sehingga membantu dalam proses
pemilihan kandidat sumur yang tepat untuk acid job berikutnya.
Metodologi yang digunakan yaitu dimulai dari mengevaluasi success criteria dari
beberapa faktor, yaitu reservoir properties (sand, permeabilitas, dan HPT), WHT
dan scale index, tipe program (bullhead dan CTU), tipe asam (organic acid dan
HCl), unload time, serta production rate before dan after. Dilakukan juga
sensitivity analysis dengan metode DOE Taguchi untuk pembobotan faktor
dengan tipe continuous data, sehingga dapat digunakan dalam proses scoring
sumur. Dan yang terakhir yaitu pemilihan kandidat sumur sesuai dengan hasil
evaluasi success criteria, serta scoring sumur untuk menentukan urutan prioritas
pelaksanaan acid job berikutnya.
Terdapat 7 kandidat sumur yang memenuhi semua success criteria, dengan urutan
prioritas acid job dimulai dari yang paling pertama hingga yang terakhir, disertai
dengan rekomendasi tipe program dan tipe asam yang akan digunakan yaitu
sumur MIA-1665 (bullhead, HCl), MIA-1694 (bullhead, HCl), MIA-1651
(bullhead, HCl), MIA-1677 (bullhead, organic acid), MIA-1974 (CTU, organic
acid), MIA-1679 (bullhead, HCl), dan MIA-1565 (bullhead, HCl).

Oil producer wells in NIMO field are prone to scale problems, due to its high
temperature because of the implementation of thermal EOR steamflood, for the
recovery of the heavy oils of this field. The total of 2500 chemical acid
stimulations (acid job) by bullheading and the use of CTU, had been implemented,
since 2019-2023, to overcome these scale problems. Of the total acid jobs, 94%
are considered successed, and the remaining 6% are failed, meaning not having
any oil gains (0 BOPD). Further evaluation of the success criterias of the acid
jobs is needed, in order to assist the process of the selection of proper wells
candidates, for the next acid job.
The metodology that has been used, started from the success criteria evaluation of
few factors, such as reservoir properties (sand, permeability, and HPT), WHT and
scale index, program type (bullhead and CTU), acid type (organic acid and HCl),
unload time, and the production rate before and after. A sensitivity analysis with
Taguchi’s DOE method was also performed for the weighting of some factors with
continuous type of data, to be used in wells scoring process. The last step was the
selection of wells candidate according to the results of the success criteria
evaluation, and wells scoring to define the priority order for the next acid job.
There are 7 wells candidate that fit all of the success criterias, with the priority
order starting from the first to the last, along with the recommendations for the
program type and the acid type to be used, are MIA-1665 (bullhead, HCl), MIA-
1694 (bullhead, HCl), MIA-1651 (bullhead, HCl), MIA-1677 (bullhead, organic
acid), MIA-1974 (CTU, organic acid), MIA-1679 (bullhead, HCl), dan MIA-1565
(bullhead, HCl).
