ABSTRAK
Thailand merupakan negara yang memiliki potensi terhadap bidang
industri pariwisata. Pengembangan bidang pariwisata yang dilakukan oleh
Pemerintah Thailand membuat jumlah wisatawan meningkat hingga
menyebabkan overtourism. Fenomena overtourism menyebabkan kerusakan
lingkungan yang akan berdampak terhadap industri pariwisata di Thailand.
Penelitian ini membahas mengenai upaya Pemerintah Thailand dalam mengurangi
dampak overtourism terhadap kerusakan lingkungan pada destinasi wisata. Dalam
mengalisis upaya Pemerintah Thailand, penulis menggunakan teori
enviromentalisme dan environmental governance oleh David Benson dan Andrew.
Sumber data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang dianalisis secara
deskriptif kualitatif. Riset ini menemukan bahwa upaya Pemerintah Thailand
memberikan hasil cukup signifikan dalam mengatasi dampak overtourism
terhadap kerusakan lingkungan.
Kata Kunci : Thailand, Overtourism, Pariwisata Thailand, Kerusakan

ABSTRACT
Thailand is a country that has potential in tourism industry. Tourism development
that carried out by Thai government has increased the number of tourism and
causing overtourism. Phenomenon of overtourism in Thailand caused
environmental degradation that has an impact on tourism industry. This study
discussed the efforts of Thai government to reduce the impact of overtourism on
environmental damage to tourism destination. In analyzing the efforts of Thai
government, the author used the theory of environmentalism and environmental
governance by David Benson and Andrew. The source of the data used is
secondary data that was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. This research
found that the attemps of Thai government have provide significant results in
overcoming the impact of overtourism on environmental damage.
