Abstract
This research is purposed aim to investigate and analyze the factors that influence accounting students in the selection of a public accounting career. Factors influencing the selection of a public accounting career with a variable measured the salary, work environment, labor market considerations, social values and benefit and shortfall of a public accounting career. The sample used by 190 respondents. The data collected is classified as primer data wich is obtained by questionnaire distribution. Analysis of the data in this study using multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 19. The results of this analysis showed that variables as partials salary, work environment, labor market considerations, and benefit and shortfall of a public accounting career of each significant effect. But partial variables social values does not significantly influence the selection of a career public accountants by accounting students. Keywords : career selection became public accountant, public accounting profession, salary, work environment, labor market considerations, social values and benefit and shortfall of a public accounting career.
