Abstract

Seeing the trend of modern retail by business in the small medium scale that so rapidly
increasing, the government of Kota Yogyakarta is considered necessary to empower the
traditional retail business on a small scale in order to grow and develop in harmonisize
of both. This studi is aimed to analize was about positive and negative impacts caused
by the existence of the national networking modern store to traditional retail businesses.
By using qualitiative and quantitative descriptive analysis of primary data by 30
traditional retail businesses is concluded that the existence of modern retail store viewed
more negative impact for traditional retail businesses. Its indicates that the government
should review the regional legislation for the national networking modern store that its
presence is not detrimental for the retail businesses.
