Abstract

This study examines to know the structure of economic growing in DIY between regency.
The data was analyzed with Tipology Klassen. From the research can coclusion that only
Kotamadya in first kuadran (high growth and high income). The area that categorize
in to high growth but low income is Bantu/ and Sleman. Gunungkidul and Kulonprogo
can categorized into low growth and low income. This study examines too the impact
of education, foreign investment, workforce and government expenditure on economic
growth by using the data of 5 region in DIY for periods of 2002 - 2010. The method of
analysis used in this research is a method of linear regression analysis of panel data. The
results shows that the education.foreign invesment and workforce variables has positive
and significant effect on economic growth. Government expenditure have insignificant
effect on economic growth. The education shows its relatively high influence on the
increasing of economic growth.
