THE INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT'S EFFORT TO FIGHT THE
FISHERIES SUBSIDY POLICY IN THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this essay is to explain the negotiation efforts of the Indonesian
government in dealing with Negotiations on Fisheries Subsidy arrangements at the
World Trade Organization (WTO) in order to realize a fair trade system and consider
a sustainable environment. To explain it, the writer uses negotiation theory. In this
study, the authors used descriptive qualitative research methods to conclude answers
related to the formulation of the problem raised in this study. In this study, the authors
conclude that Indonesia's efforts to negotiate with the WTO in the negotiation of
fisheries subsidy arrangements are multilateral in nature which are carried out
through coordination between relevant ministries on the consideration of Indonesia's
special factors and conditions in the WTO international trade system which have long�term consequences for Indonesia.

ABSTRAK
Penulisan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan upaya negosiasi
pemerintah Indonesia dalam menghadapi perundingan pengaturan subsidi perikanan di
World Trade Organization (WTO) guna mewujudkan sistem perdaganagn yang adil
serta mempertimbangkan lingkungan berkelanjutan. Untuk menjelaskannya, penulis
menggunakan teori negosiasi. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode
penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk menyimpulkan jawaban terkait rumusan masalah
yang diangkat pada penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menyimpulkan bahwa
upaya negosiasi Indonesia terhadap WTO dalam perundingan pengaturan subsidi
perikanan bersifat multilateral yang dilaksanakan melalui koordinasi antar kementerian
terkait atas pertimbangan faktor dan kondisi khusus Indonesia dalam sistem
perdagangan internasional WTO yang membawa konsekuensi jangka panjang bagi
Indonesia.
