Abstract
TEKNIK KONSERVASI MATA AIR UNTUK KEBUTUHAN
DOMESTIK DI SEBAGIAN SUB DAS TANGSI, KABUPATEN
MAGELANG, PROVINSI JAWA TENGAH

Sub DAS Tangsi merupakan bagian dari DAS Progo yang meliputi tujuh
kecamatan yang berada di Kabupaten Magelang. Mata air Sedayu terletak di Desa
Ngawonggo, Kecamatan Kaliangkrik, Kabupaten Magelang yang termasuk kedalam
sub DAS Tangsi. Mata air Sedayu merupakan sumber air utama untuk memenuhi
kebutuhan air domestik sebanyak 1.587 jiwa di sebagian Desa Sidorejo dan Desa
Pucungroto. Terdapat indikasi penurunan debit mata air yang dipengaruhi oleh musim
dan perubahan penggunaan lahan pada daerah imbuhan menjadi lahan permukiman
yang berpotensi menimbulkan limbah yang dapat menyebabkan pengaruh kualitas dari
mata air Sedayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik kondisi
eksisting daerah imbuhan mata air Sedayu, menganalisis potensi mata air dari segi tipe
mata air, kualitas dan kuantitas mata air dan merancang teknik konservasi untuk
melindungi mata air.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode survei dan pemetaan, metode
matematis, metode uji laboratorium metode wawancara dan metode evaluasi.
Karakteristik kondisi eksisting daerah imbuhan dikaji mengacu kepada PerMen PU
No. 2 Tahun 2013 dan data infiltrasi. Potensi mata air yang dikaji meliputi tipe mata
air, kualitas - kuantitas mata air dan konsumsi kebutuhan air total. Parameter kualitas
mata air yang diujikan berupa kekeruhan, warna, TDS, suhu, rasa, bau, pH, nitrat, DO,
BOD, COD dan total coliform sesuai dengan baku mutu pada PP No.82 Tahun 2001
dan PerMenKes No. 32 Tahun 2007.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daerah imbuhan mempunyai dua kelas
yaitu kelas baik dan kelas sedang. Kelas baik memiliki luasan 6.167.234 m2
dengan
persentase 40% yang di dominasi oleh penggunaan lahan sawah, kemiringan lereng
sedang dan curah hujan >3.000 mm/tahun. Untuk kelas sedang memiliki luasan
9.250.851 m2
dengan persentase 60% yang di dominasi oleh penggunaan lahan kebun,
kemiringan lereng terjal dan curah hujan 2.000-3.000 mm/tahun. Potensi mata air
ditinjau dari tipe mata air pada daerah penelitian yaitu termasuk tipe mata air tahunan,
tipe debit kelas 5 dan tipe depresi. Dari segi kualitas mata air, terdapat beberapa
parameter yang diujikan belum memenuhi standar baku mutu yaitu parameter BOD,
COD dan total coliform. Berdasarkan perbandingan rata-rata debit dengan kebutuhan
air total, kuantitas mata air masih mencukupi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air domestik.
Teknik konservasi mata air yang dilakukan berupa pembuatan bak pelindung dan bak
penampung serta pembuatan teras individu dan sumur resapan.

WATER CONSERVATION TECHNIQUES FOR DOMESTIC
NEEDS IN A PARTS OF TANGSI SUB-WATERSHED,
MAGELANG DISTRICT, CENTRAL JAVA

ABSTRACT
Tangsi sub-watershed is part of progo watershed which covers seven sub�districts located in Magelang Regency. Sedayu spring is located in Ngawonggo
Village, Kaliangkrik District, Magelang Regency which is included in tangsi
watershed. Sedayu spring is the main water source to meet the domestic water needs
of 1,587 people in parts of Sidorejo Village and Pucungroto Village. There are
indications of decreased water discharge affected by the season and changes in land
use in the replenishment area into residential land that has the potential to cause waste
that can cause the influence of Sedayu spring quality. This study aims to analyze the
characteristics of existing conditions recharge area Sedayu spring and analyze the
potential of springs in terms of spring type, quality and quantity of springs and design
conservation techniques to protect the springs.
The research methods used are survey and mapping methods, mathematical
methods, laboratory test methods, interview methods, and evaluation methods.
Characteristics of existing conditions of the recharge area studied refers to PerMen
PU No. 2 of 2013 and infiltration data. The potential of the springs studied includes
the type of spring, quality - quantity of springs, and consumption of total water needs.
The parameters of water quality were tested in the form of turbidity, color, TDS,
temperature, taste, smell, pH, nitrate, DO, BOD, COD, and total coliform in
accordance with the quality standards in PP No.82 of 2001 and PerMenKes No. 32
the of 2007.
The results showed that the recharge area has two classes, good class and
medium class. The good class has an area of 6,167,234 m2 with a percentage of 40%
dominated by the use of ricefields, moderate slopes and rainfall >3,000 mm/year. For
the medium class has an area of 9,250,851 m2 with a percentage of 60% dominated by
the use of garden land, steep slopes and rainfall of 2,000-3,000 mm/year. The potential
of springs was reviewed from the type of spring in the research area, including the
type of annual spring, class 5 discharge type, and deprresion type. In terms of the
quality of the springs, some parameters were tested that did not meet the standard
standards, namely BOD, COD, and total coliform. Based on the comparison of
average discharge with total water needs, the quantity of springs is still sufficient to
meet domestic water needs. Water conservation techniques are carried out in the form
of making protective troughs and containers as well as the manufacture of individual
terraces and infiltration wells.
