Abstract

Corporate success in extending sources of competitive advantages to news arenas, products, businesses and market segment, depends heavily on how well firms have developed and calculated those assets, skills, technologies, and capabilities to create a set of distinctive competences and resources that are significantly from those of its competitors. Building and leveraging sources of competitive advantage among multiple business units within a diversified firm thus calls for a dif erent perspective that recognizes the inherent complexity of managing assets, skill, technologies, and capabilities across the firm’s dif erent sub units. The purpose of this research was to measure the influence of sustainable competitive strategies, incentive, managerial motive and business performance within diversified firms, empirical study in diversified firms. Through purposive sampling method data were collected. The data for the research were collected by questioners for 30 diversified firms in Sleman District Yogyakarta. Analysis model with multiple regression. The results of this research first, with multiple regression showed the variable sustainable competitive strategies, incentive, managerial motive are significantly related to business performance. Second, to test partial variables with multiple regression showed the variable incentive, managerial motive are significantly related to business performance. the variable sustainable competitive strategies are not significantly related to business performance.
