Abstract
Sifat batuan di bumi yaitu heterogen, diskontinue (seperti kekar, retakan dan bidang perlapisan) dan anisotropi (sifat kesegala arah). Sifat heterogen pada suatu batuan akan memberikan perbedaan kekuatan di setiap titik material penyusun batuan. Kekuatan suatu batuan sukar untuk dianalisis dikarenakan sifat batuan tersebut. Pengujian terhadap conto batuan yang mewakilinya perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui kekuatan batuan. Batuan mempunyai kekuatan yang berbeda-beda tergantung dari ukuran masing-masing batuan yang di uji. Pengujian kuat tekan uniaksial membutuhkan waktu dan juga terbatas pada batu yang relarif keras. Penentuan parameter kekuatan masa batuan in situ sangatlah sulit, mahal dan membutuhkan waktu dalam studi perencanaan tambang. Ahli-ahli geoteknik kemudian lebih memilih melakukan pendekatan empiris dengan cara melakukan uji laboratorium. Pengaruh ukuran conto adalah suatu parameter penting pada pengujian kuat tekan uniaksial pada batuan keras dan lunak. Lokasi penelitian berada Dusun Plampang Dua, Desa Kalirejo, Kecamatan Kokap, Kabupaten Kulonprogo, yang terletak di bagian Barat Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Sembilan Conto batuan diberi kode L123 berdiameter ±6,8 cm, S123 berdiameter ±5 cm dan X123 berdiameter ±4,5 cm. Setelah dilakukan uji sifat mekanik, didapatkan Modulus Young Andesit Plampang Dua yang berada dalam kategori low - medium strength, Nisbah Poisson batuan Andesit Plampang Dua berkisar antara 0,15 - 0.21. Berdasarkan hasil dari tegangan maksimum yang didapat tiap perconto ,conto dengan diameter ±4,5 cm memiliki nilai kuat tekan maksimum rata-rata sebesar 84,04 MPa, conto dengan diameter ±5 cm memiliki nilai kuat tekan maksimum rata-rata sebesar 69,21 Mpa dan conto dengan diameter ±6,8 cm memiliki nilai kuat tekan maksimum rata-rata sebesar 60,05 MPa. Pengaruh ukuran terjadi pada batu Andesit Plampang Dua yang mengalami penurunan 30% dan 22%. Kata kunci : andesit, Modulus Young, Nisbah Poisson, nilai kuat tekan. The nature of the rocks in the earth that is heterogeneous, discontinue ( such as joint, fracture and layers ) and anisotropy ( properties in all directions ). Heterogeneous nature on a rock will make a difference in the strength of each constituent material point of rock. Due to the nature of the rock , the strength of a rock is difficult to be analyzed. To determine the strength of the rock, it would require testing of representative rock samples. In general rocks have different strengths depending on the size of each rock in the test. Uniaxial compressive strength testing takes time and is also limited to the hard rock relative. In mine design studies , determination of the strength parameters of in situ rock is difficult, costly and takes time. Therefore, geotechnical experts prefer the empirical approach by conducting laboratory tests. In the hard rock and soft rock, the influence of sample size is an important parameter to the uniaxial compressive strength test. Location of research was in Plampang Dua, Kalirejo , Kokap , Kulonprogo Regency , in the western part of Yogyakarta. Nine rock samples coded ± 6.8 cm in diameter L123 , S123 ± 5 cm in diameter and X123 ± 4.5 cm in diameter. After testing the mechanical properties, obtained Young’s modulus Andesite in Plampang Dua which are in the category of low - medium strength, poisson ratio of Andesite in Plampang Dua ranged between 0.15 – 0.21 . Based on the results obtained from the maximum stress of each sample, samples with a diameter of ± 4.5 cm has a maximum value of compressive strength by an average of 84.04 MPa, samples with a diameter of ± 5 cm has a maximum value of compressive strength by an average of 69.21 Mpa and samples with a diameter of ± 6.8 cm has a maximum value of compressive strength by an average of 60.05 MPa. The effect of the size of the aggregates occurs in Plampang Dua which decreased 30 % and 22 %. Keywords : andesite , Young modulus , Poisson ratio , the compressive strength.
