Abstract

Biogas contains some elements of compounds, namely CH4, H2O, CO2 and H2S.Theresarch is case study experimental in Poncosari village, Srandakan, Bantul,Yogyakarta which is a conservation of bioenergy. Results of analysis using a gaschromatograph showed biogas containing 52.642% CH4 and 30.365% CO2 priortreatment. The results of tests using dietylene glycol content of 90% by 15 ml obtained0.1428% volume U2O. H2O and CO2 content affects the quality especially physicalproperties (color and old flame) and chemical properties (corrosive) of gas. To improvethe quality of the gas then designed a CO2 and H2O removal processing prototype. CO2and H2O removal processing uses the concept of sweetening process and dehydrationprocess. The component in prototype consists of a tube reactor, chemical injectioninstrumentation, heater, cooler and pump thus forming a closed circuit system. NaOH isused and tested at concentration of 10% and 30% for sweetening process whiledehydration dietylene glycol concentration of 90% is used for dehydration process.Chemical injected using a compressor which is set at a pressure of 25 psi to the reactortube with injection duration for 10 seconds and a delay of 2 seconds. The out gas fromthe reactor analyzed using gas chromatograph. The results showed the levels of CH4 isincreasing until 75.74% and CO2 is decreasing until 1,344% using NaOH 30%concentration.
