Abstract
Independence of Indonesia based on Nationalism Doctrine and Democracy Doctrine (Souvereign
People) which is as the basic of the political economic conception that based on Economic Democracy as
the order of Pasal 33 of UUD 1945. Democracy means people’s interests is prior rather than personal
interests. Does the people who lived in the border of the state face this conception in reality? The data
collected from in-depth interview and Focus Group Discussion of people in the border Indonesia –
Malaysia, in Entikong village, Entikong District, Sanggau Regency, Kalimantan Barat (West Borneo)
Province, Republic of Indonesia. In-depth interview and Focus Group Discussion held to Primary schools
teachers and informal leaders in the communities, hoping they will be able to be agents of transfer of
knowledge. The result of this research is that the people of entikong might says “ Malaysia in stomach
but Indonesia in heart”. This idiom indicate that the attention of Indonesia’s Government is minime to
this area, both physically needs and basic needs of life. Until today people in the border side in Indonesia
was looking for living and was feeding by the facilitation to fillfuling their basic needs from neighbour
state, Malaysia. It’s not good indeed, but we still have chance since the people’s in this border state still
have nationalism values. So, there are the possibility that National Resilience still excists in this area.
Based on this results, we do hope that these informations can be used for finding solutions via transfer of
knowledge to create people empowered. By strengthening economy step by step economic progress will
be occure and it will be give an impact to the progress of National Resilience.
