Abstract

Forecasting is the activity of estimating what will happen in the future. There are several methods that can be used in the forecasting process, including double exponential smoothing. In this research, forecasting is done to predict the number of new student admissions in a study program at a university by using the double exponential smoothing method. The results of the study are based on admission data for 10 years, the best forecasting value is obtained using the parameters α = 0.8 and β = 1, with a Mean Percentage Error (MPE) value of 0.1172.
