Abstract
In the post-Cold War era, the USA has emerged as the sole world superpower. The fall of the Soviet Union Transformed the world from bipolar to a unipolar system in which the USA is the epicentrum. Exploiting the unipolar system of the world, the USA utilizes military power to pursue its national interests throughout the world. Having succeeded to invade Afghanistan,the state is now occupying Iraq without taking into account the authority of the United Nations as well as strong criticism from the international society. This article analyzes the technological, security, and economic determinants behind the American war on Iraq.
