Abstract
The impact of citrus vein phloem degeneration (CVPD) on biological characteristic of Diaphorina citri on siem citrus was studied in the laboratory. Cohort of psyllid consisted of 100 eggs were cultured in the laboratory on both healthy and CVPD infected siem citrus, and 150 nymphs of fourth instar in field cages. CVPD affected significantly reproduction rate, age, survivorship, and sex ratio. It significantly shorten the age of female (18 - 61 days on healthy citrus, 14 - 35 days on cvpd infected citrus), decreased fecundity (457.8 eggs/female on healthy citrus, 201.8 eggs/female on CVPD infected citrus), decreased survivorship of second instar nymph (48% on healthy citrus, 32% on infected citrus), increase the ratio of male/female (0.868 on healthy citrus, 1.366 on infected citrus), and decrease the intrinsic rate of increase (r= -0.009 on healthy citrus, r= -0.021 on infected citrus)
