Abstract
Comprehensive environmentally study of water utilization is the construction planning of newa airport in Temon District, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The purpose of this research is to provide aquifer system data and the direction of groundwater flow. The aim is to know the caracter of aquifer in the research area that can be used as comparison of groundwater utilization before and after the airport is complete. This study was conducted in three stages. The first stage is taking of geological data, hydrogeology data and the resistance of rock type. The second stage is laboratory analysis. The third stage is integration data to analyza the character of the aquifer. Wates groundwater basin is a beach aquifer system consisting of the coastal alluvial subsystem and sand dune subsystem, with shallow groundwater depths of 0.40-19.50m. The inner aquifer in 50-120m, with a semi confined aquifer system, poor to medium productivity. The sand found in lenses layer in some places either east west and north south distribution. It makes the aquifer disected.
