Abstract
Sementara kandungan besi (Fe) menjadi pengontrol besar kecilnya nilai chargeabilitas (0-120 msec) . Respon berdasarkan IP menunjukkan nilai chargeabilitas berupa spot-spot yang mana disimpulkan belum mampu menunjukkan peran kandungan nikel terhadap nilai chargeabilitas dikarenakan pengendapan nikel laterit yang menghampar secara horizontal. Kata kunci : Resistivitas, Chargeabilitas, Induced Polarization, Gradient array, Limonit, Saprolit, Bedrock, Nickel Laterite. vi ABSTRACT IDENTIFICATING THE PROFILE OF NICKEL LATERITE BASED ON INDUCED POLARIZATION METHOD’S RESPONSE AND GRADIENT ARRAY IN “VWT” FIELD SOROWAKO, EAST LUWU, SOUTH SULAWESI Andre Obaja Wilson 115.140.092 Nickel has been a vital exploration object for mankind either functioned for industrial purposes or daily needs. The existence of nickel from weathered materials of ultramafic stone can be known through geophysical measurement using geo-electrical induced polarization method which combined with gradient array configuration. Chargeability was included in order to see the response of nickel which categorized as a metal object. The measurement of resistivity done along with induced polarization survey all at once, and the drilling pit-test was done earlier. There are drilling datas used for a validation and fundamental parameter to determine the profile of nickel laterite. In “VWT” field, there were 8 lines spreaded out, 4 lines went from northeast to southwest and 4 lines from northwest to southeast. The result of resistivity response shows variations of value which has high and low resitivity in each layer which is conductive limonite layer (10-250Ωm) and resistive limonite layer (260-1000Ωm) from 0 to 20 meters of depth, and then earthy saprolite layer (10-250 Ωm) rocky saprolite layer (260-1000 Ωm) from 20-40 meters of depth, also fractured bedrock layer (100-290 Ωm) and fresh bedrock layer (<300 Ωm) starts from 40-80 meters of depth. Those responses are controlled by contents of water, porosity, permeability, and structures in the bedrock which are fractures. While the iron (Fe) content becomes the controller of the chargeability response value (0-120 msec). The cross section of the Induced Polarization shows a chargeability value in the form of spots which concluded that it has not been able to show the role of nickel content to the chargeability value due to the deposition of nickel laterite which extends horizontally. Keywords: Resistivity, Chargeability, Induced Polarization, Gradient array, Limonite, Saprolite, Bedrock, Nickel Laterite.
