Abstract

The conservation initiative of ground water pass through infiltration-well manipulation at the settlement areas in Mlati, Sleman. The research on infiltration-well of rain fall manipulation is important, because it can contribute on ground water conservation. The objectives of the research were: (1) to find out the dimension of infiltration-well of rain fall which effective for ground water conservation, (2) to find out amount of infiltration-well, (3) to find out the cost in making infiltration-well which efficient for a house. The research was carried out at settlement areas on rainy season in Mlati Sub-district, Sleman district. The method of this research used survey method and quantitative analysis. Soil sample was collected with purposive method and it was measurement base on overlay from topography map, geology map, land use map and administration map. The results of this research showed that the depth of aquifer in Mlati average 6,17m, depth of infiltration-well about 3,04–5,83m, types of infiltration-well which effective was vertical system. The amounts from infiltration-well of rain fall are 1 (single) – 2 (parallel) a household. The cost in making infiltration-well which efficient were Rp 1.885.000,- a household. So that all rain fall which into to the depth of infiltration-well be able to surplus ground water storage.
