Abstract

Abstract: Social Media as a Factor Driving Offline Crowd. This research is a research about the proving of herd behavior phenomenon that happened to Indonesian people especially living in Jakarta, where the form of herd behavior is a crowd. Through the initial phenomenon seen there are two types of crowds formed in the market, differentiated by on what platform crowd that occurs, the platform referred to in this study is online and offline platform. Social media became one of the media where the occurrence of online crowd, which then can give effect to the formation of crowd offline. Crowd offline provides benefits for small and medium entrepreneurs who have products with low involvement categories and want to offer new products to the market. Small and medium entrepreneurs who have a large promotional budget can take advantage of crowd offline to attract other potential customers. This research is an explorative research associative, using quantitative and qualitative methodology (mix method), with Path Analysis analysis technique to analyze quantitative data and Content Analysis for its qualitative analysis. Quantitative data is collected using a closed questionnaire, with 150 samples, while in depth interview will be used to collect qualitative data to form, in depth interview will be done to 10 respondents.
