Abstract
Disaster abrasion has an impact through the environment such as decline and progress of the shoreline. These impacts include changes in coastal landforms, and the loss of shelter and livelihoods of communities, disruption of coastal ecosystems. The purposes of this study: (1) To find out the abrasion process and the abrasion rate of beach at Bugel Beach: (2) to determine the factors that contribute to coastal abrasion: (3) to determine proper technical management to reduce coastal abrasion at Bugel Beach.
The used in the study method is survey and mapping, purposive sampling, laboratory test and matematic solve. The abrasion susceptibility parameter is determined by the measurement of coastal slope, wave period, current velocity and wind velocity followed by interpreting, digitizing and calculating on google earth image on 2013-2016 to determine how much coastline change rate that indicates abrasion. All parameters are analyzed with qualitative descriptive approach to know the interrelationship between parameters.
Based on the research result, the coastal abrasion rate for the period of 2013-2016 is -1.93 m / year. Natural factors that affect coastal abrasion are sea waves, wind speed, surface current velocity and tides. Based on the study of shoreline changes and evaluation, according to the results of coastal abrasion susceptibility analysis, the technical direction of management that suitable in the research area is by amplification through beach building which is planned to use a concrete buis containing cemen and bronjong concrete for retaining basic.
Keywords: Abrasion, susceptibility factor, proper technical management
