Abstract

Daerah Loa Janan dan sekitarnya yang termasuk dalam Cekungan Kutai, Zona Antiklinorium Samarinda, merupakan antiklin-antiklin sempit, memanjang berarah Timurlaut Utara - Baratdaya Selatan. Geomorfologi daerah termasuk kedalam satuan geomorfik struktural yaitu Subsatuan Geomorfik Perbukitan Antiklin (S1), Lembah Antiklin (S2), Perbukitan Sinklin (S3). Terdiri dari dua satuan batuan, yaitu Satuan Batupasir Formasi Pulubalang dan Satuan Batulempung Formasi Pulubalang, diendapkan pada Awal Miosen sampai dengan Miosen Tengah, Formasi ini diendapkan pada lingkungan upper delta plain. Seam utama pada daerah telitian adalah seam D, E, F, G, dengan tipe penyebaran spliting, melampar ke arah Baratdaya – Timurlaut, menerus menipis ke arah selatan. Pada beberapa titik pemboran didapatkan indikasi washout ditandai dengan hilangnya lapisan batubara. Batubara hadir dengan ketebalan yang bervariasi seam D(6-7m), E(1-7m), F(5-7m), dan G(0,25 – 4m). Loa Janan and the surrounding area are belongs into Kutai Basin, Samarinda Antiklinorium zone, it is tight anticline, trending elongated from North Northeast – South Southwest. Geomorphology of the area belongs into the structural geomorphic units which is subunits geomorphic hills anticline (S1), anticline valley (S2), sincline hills (S3). Consist of two lithologies, they are Pulubalang Ssandstone Formation units and Pulubalang Claystone Formation units, was deposited at Early Miosen until Middle Miosen, this formation was deposited in upper delta plain scope. The main seam in that scope are Seam D, E, F, G, with spreading spliting type, exposed to Southwest – Northeast direction, continous become thin to South direction. On the several drilling point obtained washout indication marked by the loss of coal layers. Coal attend with the variation thickness D seam(6-7m), E(1-7m) , (5-7m), and G(0,25 – 4m
