Abstract
ABSTRACT Mining activities have an impact on environmental damage, so that is very required reclamation activities. Therefore, it is always followed by mining reclamation activities. This research was done in PT Kaltim Prima Coal’s reclamation land areas aged 0 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. PT Kaltim Prima Coal is one of many companies engaged in coal mining in Sangatta. One of the criteria for reclamation success rate can be seen from the level of erosion that occurred in the reclamation land. This study has the objective to know the rate of infiltration and erosion that occurred in PT Kaltim Prima Coal’s reclamation land with age difference. The methods used in this research are survey method, laboratory analytical method, and mathematical analysis method. Laboratory analysis method is useful to determine the weight of the volume of soil, which will be used in a mathematical method for determining the rate of erosion. The rate of infiltration and erosion measurements was done directly in the field used double ring infiltrometer and erosion sticks method. Based on this research, it is known that reclamation’s age affects the rate of infiltration and erosion. If reclamation’s age is older, then the rate of infiltration will be higher. As for the rate of erosion, if reclamation’s age is older, then the rate of erosion will be lower. Keywords: mining, reclamation, infiltration, erosion. INTISARI Kegiatan penambangan berdampak pada kerusakan lingkungan, sehingga kegiatan reklamasi pun sangat diwajibkan oleh karena itu kegiatan penambangan selalu diikuti oleh kegiatan reklamasi. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan reklamasi PT Kaltim Prima Coal yang berumur 0 bulan, 3 bulan, 6 bulan, dan 12 bulan. PT Kaltim Prima Coal merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang pertambangan batubara di Sangatta. Salah satu kriteria tingkat keberhasilan reklamasi dapat dilihat dari tingkat erosi yang terjadi di lahan reklamasi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui laju infiltrasi dan erosi yang terjadi di lahan reklamasi PT Kaltim Prima Coal dengan perbedaan umur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode survei, metode analisis laboratorium, dan metode analisis matematis. Metode analisis laboratorium dilakukan untuk menentukan berat volume tanah, yang nantinya akan digunakan dalam metode matematis untuk menentukan laju erosi yang terjadi. Pengukuran laju infiltrasi dan erosi dilakukan langsung di lapangan dengan menggunakan double ring infiltrometer untuk pengukuran infiltrasi dan metode tongkat erosi untuk pengukuran erosi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat diketahui bahwa umur reklamasi mempengaruhi laju infiltrasi dan erosi. Semakin tua umur reklamasi maka laju infiltrasi akan semakin tinggi. Sedangkan untuk laju erosi, semakin tua umur reklamasi maka laju erosi akan semakin rendah. Kata Kunci: penambangan, umur reklamasi, infiltrasi, erosi.
