Abstract
ABSTRAK
Berawal dari ide untuk merekam perubahan Yogyakarta dengan segala
problematikanya, Pewarta Foto Indonesia (PFI) Yogyakarta berusaha
menyampaikannya melalui pameran fotografi jurnalistik Jogja Berhenti Nyaman.
Peserta pameran merekam dan merefleksikan berbagai peristiwa di Yogyakarta
beberapa tahun terakhir. Melalui kumpulan karya foto yang dipamerkan oleh
wartawan foto tersebut menggambarkan kondisi Yogyakarta semakin tidak
nyaman dengan beberapa faktor penyebab. Melalui kajian semiotika dari Roland
Barthes, penulis mencoba menguraikan makna dalam foto-foto dari karya PFI
Yogyakarta tersebut melalui 2 tingkatan yaitu denotatif dan konotatif. Untuk lebih
menguatkan proses dalam pemaknaan, penulis juga menggunakan 4 dari 9 formula
keabsahan data dari Andrik Purwasito yaitu intertekstualitas, intersubjektivitas,
siapa komunikator serta konteks fisik dan sosial. Akhirnnya peneliti mampu
menemukan nilai-nilai yang tersirat dalam enam foto tersebut. Nilai-nilai yang
tersirat dalam foto-foto tersebut yaitu, kemacetan, tata kelola kota seperti
pembangunan hotel dan mall, kriminalitas dan keterbatasan ruang publik di Kota
Yogyakarta yang membuat berkurangnya rasa kenyamanan.

ABSTRACT
Starting from the idea to record changes to all Problems Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Photojournalists (PFI) Yogyakarta trying to convey through the exhibition of
journalistic photography Stop Convenient of Jogja. Exhibitors record and reflect
on the events in Yogyakarta last few years. Through a collection of photographs
exhibited by the photo journalist describes the condition of Yogyakarta
increasingly uncomfortable with some of the causes. Through the study of
semiotics from Roland Barthes, the author tries to decipher the meaning of the
photographs of the Yogyakarta PFI works through two levels, namely denotative
and connotative. To further strengthen the process of meaning, the author also uses
4 of 9 formula Andrik Purwasito validity of the data that is intertextuality,
intersubjectivity, who communicator as well as the physical and social context.
Finally researchers were able to find the values implicit in the six photos. The
values implicit in these photos is, congestion, governance of the city such as the
construction of hotels and shopping malls, criminality and the limitations of public
space in the city of Yogyakarta, which makes reduced sense of comfortable.
