ABSTRAK
Fitur kolom komentar memberikan sebuah ruang diskusi bagi masyarakat melalui
media sosial. Informasi dari Instagram @merapi_uncover terkait kasus kerusuhan
mahasiswa NTT juga menunjukkan adanya pandangan baru dari masyarakat yang
disampaikan di kolom komentar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui isi
pesan pada kolom komentar akun Instagram @merapi_uncover terkait konflik
kerusuhan mahasiswa NTT di Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 1.952
komentar pada 6 unggahan pada tanggal 2 – 4 Juli 2022 menggunakan metode
penelitian analisis isi kuantitatif. Isi pesan pada kolom komentar dikategorikan ke
dalam 6 unit analisis. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa isi pesan pada kolom
komentar didominasi oleh topik yang berkaitan dengan situasi dan kondisi lokasi
kejadian dengan presentase sebanyak 23%, komentar yang bersifat koersif
sebanyak 38,7%, penggunaan bahasa Indonesia sebesar 45,8%, komentar dengan
karakter pesan hanya teks dengan presentase 87,8%, komentar negatif sebanyak
69,9%, serta komentar yang menempatkan mahasiswa Indonesia Timur sebagai
objek sebesar 99,1%. Dalam kolom komentar terdapat minat yang tinggi dari
pengguna Instagram dalam memahami detail peristiwa kasus kerusuhan konflik
yang mengindikasikan media sosial seperti akun Instagram @merapi_uncover
memainkan peran sebagai sumber penyebaran informasi dan wadah diskusi, serta
adanya perbedaan pandangan dalam komunitas yang terlibat.

ABSTRACT
The comment column feature provides a space for community discussion through
social media. Information from Instagram @merapi_uncover regarding the case of
East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) student riots in Yogyakarta also reflects new
perspectives expressed by the community in the comment section. This research
aims to understand the content of messages in the comment section of the Instagram
account @merapi_uncover related to the conflict of NTT student riots in
Yogyakarta. The study involved 1,952 comments on 6 posts from July 2 to 4, 2022,
using a quantitative content analysis method. The message content in the comment
section was categorized into 6 units of analysis. The research results indicate that
the message content in the comment section is dominated by topics related to the
situation and conditions of the incident with a percentage of 23%, coercive
comments at 38.7%, the use of the Indonesian language at 45.8%, comments with
text-only messages at 87.8%, negative comments at 69.9%, and comments placing
East Indonesian students as objects at 99.1%. The comment section shows a high
interest from Instagram users in understanding the details of the incident,
indicating that social media platforms like the Instagram account
@merapi_uncover play a role as a source of information dissemination and a
discussion forum, with differing perspectives within the involved community..
