ABSTRAK
Media sosial ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menyampaikan informasi yang
mengedukasi termasuk dunia skincare yang dibutuhkan oleh kebanyakan kaum wanita.
Dokter Richard merupakan seorang dokter yang memanfaatkan media sosial TikTok
sebagai sarana untuk mengedukasi kepada audiensnya tentang dunia skincare, karena
saat ini banyak beredar skincare yang abal-abal dan dijual dipasaran dengan bebas.
Namun pada kontennya tersebut, muncul pro dan kontra, sehingga adanya perbedaan
penerimaan makna audiensnya. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah
penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis teori resepsi menurut Stuart Hall yang
menjelaskan adanya perbedaan resepsi atau penerimaan makna audiens dalam
menerima pesan informasi dari media. Hasil penelitian resepsi berbeda-beda. Terdapat
26 decoding dari posisi hegemonic dominant, 10 decoding pada posisi negotiated
position, dan pada opposisi position tidak ditemukan. Dan audiens mendapatkan
pengetahuan dan pemahaman berkat konten dokter Richard. Dengan mayoritas
hegemonic dominant memberikan makna bahwa audiens kurang kritis dalam menerima
konten skincare, karena hanya mengikuti dan menggunakan produk yang sedang viral
saja.

ABSTRACT
Social media has become a necessity for users who aim to carry out various
communications. This social media can also be used to convey educational information
including the world of skincare which is needed by most women. Doctor Richard is a
doctor who uses social media TikTok as a means to educate his audience about the
world of skincare, because currently a lot of fake skincare is being circulated and sold
in the market freely. However, in the content, there are pros and cons, so that there are
differences in the audience's acceptance of meaning. The method used in this research
is descriptive research with reception theory analysis according to Stuart Hall which
explains the difference in the reception or acceptance of the audience's meaning in
receiving information messages from the media. Reception results vary. There are 26
decodings from the hegemonic dominant position, 10 decodings in the negotiated
position, and in the opposition position not found. With a dominant hegemonic
majority, it means that the audience is less critical in accepting skincare content,
because they only follow and use products that are currently viral.
