ABSTRAK
Novel Harapan di Atas Sajadah menceritakan tentang kehidupan seorang wanita
bernama Adara yang selalu mengalami cobaan dan ujian di dalam hidupnya.
Cobaan dan ujian tersebut justru membuktikan sisi akhlak baiknya dalam
menyelesaikan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi
akhlak dalam novel Harapan di Atas Sajadah. Metode yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah semiotika Roland Barthes. Adapun teori yang digunakan, yaitu
teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui cerita
novel Harapan di Atas Sajadah terdapat beberapa representasi akhlak, yakni akhlak
kepada Allah, akhlak kepada sesama, dan akhlak kepada diri sendiri. Akhlak
kepada Allah antara lain, yaitu cinta kepada Allah, tawakal, dan syukur. Akhlak
kepada sesama antara lain, yaitu berbakti kepada suami, sabar, tolong-menolong,
saling mengingatkan, memuliakan tamu, berprasangka baik, dan amanah. Akhlak
kepada diri sendiri antara lain, yaitu berbusana islami, menuntut ilmu, mengajarkan
ilmu, dan tidak membuka aib sendiri.

ABSTRACT
The novel Harapan di Atas Sajadah is based on woman life named Adara who
always suffering and has problem in her life. These suffering and problem was
actually proved the side of her good character in solving the problems. This
research was aimed to determine the representation of morals in the novel Harapan
di Atas Sajadah. The method used in this research was Roland Barthes semiotics.
The theory is used Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The results of this research
showed that through the novel Harapan di Atas Sajadah there were several
representations of morality, such was moral to the Allah, moral to others, and
moral to our self. The moral to Allah are included love for Allah, trust, and
gratitude. The moral to others are included being obey to husband, being patient,
helping each other, reminding each other, glorifying guests, being kind, and being
trustworthy. The moral to our self are included using islamic dresses, studying,
teaching our knowledge, and don't tell personal disgrace.
